Yeah man.... an MP3 player is really good enough. You'd be way too tired to play your PSP during admin time while you're doing your BMT.
In fact if you're scared of having your MP3 player stolen, then follow the advice of the others and get a small and cheap radio. If anything, it may help you in your bonding sessions with your bunkmates.... some of my best memories of BMT came from just sitting around the radio on the admin table with my section mates and talking c0ck with them.
As it is there are already plenty of things to do: shower, change, prepare for the next day's training, talk on your handphone, night training (for the siao-on guys) -

Bring a diary too. Never mind if you never write before. Just record down your daily BMT activities.
It's a personal regret of mine. One of my lingering Tekong memories, 22 years on already, remains the sight of a fellow platoon mate diligently scribbling into his notebook. All it took was 10 minutes, maximum, before lights out.
Some sort of permanent reminder of your personal BMT anecdotes, they're priceless, man. -

i'm in bmt now...can bring psp, mp3 players...all at your own risk of course...but strictly no chargers allowed...
