For those who haven't been there: the new Pasir Laba Camp is magnificent too. A few places are quite high-brow, though not comprehensively on the whole as as SAFTI MI next door. Walk around & enjoy the sights, cuz I recall the whole place was under contruction & boarded up during the last AOH.
If you're taking the shuttle from Boon Lay, note that the route traveres the rear of the army camps, entering first via a side-back gate into ITI (Jurong Camp 2?), then turning & winding past SAFTI MI, across the flyover (over the PIE), then into Pasir Laba.
Cannot reveal more, for security's sake, but it's a big, big change from the days I slogged past the place when attached out to 5 SIR. Most of the wilderness is gone, but a few of the well-trodden treks are still there on the Pasir Laba side, so look out for them. The sudden sight of them had hit me emotionally during the last AOH, when ferrying from SAFTI MI to the rifle range/obstacle course. The route this time around isn't as long, but the revisiting was still nice. Going up to Fofo or BCTC, or deeper into the Live Firing Area, will trigger memories too. -

its not NCC day. those cadets are NSFs. saw alot of my frens there when i went back to visit my unit. today's turnout mostly for army visitors. coming monday also.Originally posted by blitzonic:Just got back. Why didn't anyone forewarn it was NCC day or something?? About 85 percent of the turnout when I was there were the freakin' cadets; another 10 were students in uniforms; & the remaining 5 civilians.

all in all, quite a nice one this year with lots of activities planned to cater for all age grps. go see the red lions at leaders square and try the live firing. nice! -
i am a signaller doing sai kang there. 3 weeks before aoh started i laying lines over the weekend alreadi. if u see all the hotspots got lan cable and phone lines is my coy lay wan.

And, yeap, the paintball shoot was quite a disappointment ... other than that, PLC looks to be a nice place to show off our wares. Anyway, i wonder how long they did to place camo nets all over the buildings ... -

i went there this afternoon, it rained heavily for a while.
for those going tomorrow, an advice from me, go to the battle ride world and take ticket first cos the tickets goes very fast. the time of the ride is written on the ticket so u can visit other area and come back when it's time for your ride. -

But it was fun... And when i was going back, got this group of soldiers wanna fight one another... All becos they were rushing for a bus and one of them knocked down the poles. One fellow came, i think 3SG came and shout at them shut up, under the scrutiny of the the public...zzz. Heard these 2 guys from arty whispering among themselves "This is so embarassing man" -

Tried the "Time Crisis" paintball thing...ITS NOT WORTH THE WAIT. Too bad the SOF chaps didn't have their makeshift "killhouse" which I would have "killed" to go again.
Went today with my exchange student friends and they had a blast. Were pretty much surprised by the gear we had and how advanced our Army is. Though I didn't do a good job of securing the battle ride and mission world ride tickets. But hell, they got to shoot so much till their fingers ached. haha
All in all, my guests rated it 8.5/10 except that the food wasn't that good despite paying $5 for it, though portion was good. and a tip for you guys, don't buy the crappy merchandise they have at the souvenir booth. Go to the Gift Shop above the cookhouse to buy whatever you guys want. -
today go. very fun. first for 2nd minister in defense put up the number plate of the ledpard tank. 81111 MID. fun at live firing too

i didn't knew can get those badges.
i only go there for sight seeing and looking at the exhibits. didn't play any of the games as the queues was quite long. anyway those games also not suitable for me lah since i've already been through NS, more kids and pre-enlistees.
