full time national service matter

i registered for full time natinal service , but i just received a letter saying i got granted for deferment , and somemmore i just got graduated last week. I am in a private school , just finish my whole course , but they sent me a letter stating my school and course and said i could continue. I want to ask that can i apply for ns again? instead of deferment? cos i just graduated from the school. And currently waiting for my medical and geting enlisted.

I think shouldn't be a problem.... LOL i hope so , cos i wan go ns first , i now 17 go in , 19 come out i studying again , then my reservist finish at age 33 better... anyway i just email them hope they wil reply me tml or sth.

had a friend signed up army after sec4 .. go in army 2.5yrs .. by the time i go in .. govt announced army 2yrs ..
he could have saved 0.5yrs . -

Anyway , can i ask u guys if i can still apply for spf to be a regular? because i last time received a letter of notification to register for ns , and i already registered it , but my medical i havent gone thru its on oct. so can i still apply to be a regular in spf?

Can you confirm here your age, whether your last studies was local or overseas, plus whether you'd applied for deferment beforehand?
Also, how come you didn't do the medical checkup concurrently during NS registration? Were you labeled as temporarily unfit? -

i am 17 , my last studies was in a local private school , i did not applied for deferment beforehand instead i registered for ns , and my medical checkup is at oct , and nope i am not labelled temporarily unfit as i havent even went for my medical. -
At 17, you're still a year away. The majority of recruits enlist only at 18 or older.
You can apply to go in earlier under the VEES scheme, if you want (& your parents approve):-

But if you're prepared to wait, but worry that the SAF will wrongly treat you as deferred academically, then -- by all means -- call CMPB to inform them of your NS eligibility. MOE seldom get it wrong with JC & Poly students, but maybe in this case your private school relayed on the wrong info. -

Sure, if you meet their qualifications (eg. medically PES A/B, etc). Keep in mind that you must pass an interview too, just like for any civilian job. A lot of people seem to think the Govt will just accept all applicants, which isn't true per se. But, upon signing on, you must be prepared to commit 5 years -- of course, while earning a regular's wages -- to fulfill your former NS liability. Same for SCDF.
If you sign early, then won't have to do two BMTs (SAF & SPF). If you wait a bit to see where your SAF vocational posting is, then perhaps something else may interest you instead -- eg. SAFPU, or military police.

Q. If I've not served my National Service, can I apply?
A. Yes, you can. SPF will have to check with Central Manpower Base (CMPB) prior to your appointment for approval to release you from full-time National Service enlistment.
All male Singaporeans/ Singapore Permanent Residents who have not completed full-time national service must serve a minimum term of 5 years (known as Minimum Term of Engagement, MTE) as a regular officer so as to fulfil your full-time National Service obligation.
Q. If I'm a full-time National Serviceman, who is presently serving my 3
months Basic Military Training (BMT), am I eligible to apply?
A. Yes, you may. However, you have to submit your application early (preferably at least 2 months prior to your completion of BMT).
This is to facilitate the arrangement for your interview before your BMT completion and vocational unit posting.

how is the interview like? as i did not attend interview before , i not sure if i can answer their qns. example of their interview qns? do i need any qualification to sign on? my highest level is only privte diploma.

the cmpb just called me and resolve the problem to me and it have already been settled , he said that i am only deferred till oct and my medical will be in oct , and after my medical if i got a pes A or Pes B i will be required to take my napfa at toa payoh stadium , and he said for ppl who are taking medical at oct will most likely be enlist next year june. anyway i wanna ask for june intake , any idea what unit will i mostly likely get into? like jan intake is most of them went to commandos and guards , so what about june?

I note you wrote something about further studies in an earlier post. IMO Won't be so simple, if you sign on. The Govt is always quite ngeow about filling NS commitments, requiring a confirmed academic place, minimum time already served first, sometimes a bond (if going overseas) before allowing any early release -- even then doing so only a week or so before term starts.
The only exceptions, as far as I know, are for the SAF scholarship-holders: they must enrol the year they received it. Other Govt scholars don't enjoy such benefits, I believe.
So you must talk to the Police recruiter to find out more their MTE rules & conditions. Must confirm your PES status first. Wow, no NAPFA scores either? Those results shall decide which BMT you'll kena &, related to that, perhaps which service arm to be posted to. Who knows, maybe you'll get enlisted to join a unit mono-intake (instead of Tekong BMTC), or to SPF or SCDF. -

I get the feeling you're not going make the cut if you can't comprehend such straightforward information. FYI Someone also posted elsewhere online that waiting for this reply letter can be agonizing (takes about a month or so) amid the already-stressful BMT experience.
