Yup. Maximum 7 high-key ICTs in 10-year cycle, the other minimum 3 years being low-keys. Followed by a 3-year BIT cycle (2-day affairs). Thereafter, the whole unit nominal roll gets re-posted to MINDEF reserves -- i.e. no more ICTs, IPPTs or mob mannings.
The whole thing is unit-based. Meaning if you'd joined yours in mid-term, it's up to your CO on whether to retain you (to follow them into the reserves) or to post you out (back to holding list, or recycled on to another reservist unit). -

is a minimum of 7 HKs and minimum of 3 LKs within 10 NS years. can be called for more. but very unlikely.
i used to work is NSHRC and ppl make common mistakes regarding this. once, my understudy asked me wats the requirement to be phased to MR. he say izit 7hk and 3lk, i kena fked whole day. cuz i supposedly nv teach him to use the word "MINIMUM"
maybe the mods here can sticky a thread for such issues? -

By LEFT, I did only 6+4.
But my 6 High Key ish 3 local 3 overseas. -
cuz maybe yr unit decided to waive off for u guys. seen a few times. but cuz the unit de ppl all quite old liao. lol.

next year another high key.. then follow by another high key with major exercise. CO say if done well in this major exercise, the last high key will be change to low key. If not, will continue to have the last high key.. -
If all ur remaining high key is local ex then sibei boring. Total ICT should be 10. Depends ur unit ( but not CO ) not all units follow the 7+3 strictly.Originally posted by lemon1974:have gone through 4 high key right now.

Really, the new system that airtight? Under the old one, a future HK can become a LK upon achieving solid proficiency-test results. A HK year can also be designated for parade participation, like the Military Tattoo thing my unit did in '92 (9 straight weekends burnt). -
not that strict la. it all depends on CO wanna fight for u guys anot. im not sure abt the old system though i believe it can still be applied. as for parade participation, kinda difficult nowadays. they dont count towards HK unless it's '7 or more days of continuous training' as i understand from my previous job scope.Originally posted by blitzonic:Really, the new system that airtight? frm what i understand from my dy, they will try to get everyone to hit max participation rate so tt can release them early and to allow for new ppl to come in.
anyway, jus a reminder for everyone. dont take wat i type as it is. i orded in july and quite rusty liao. maybe got changes i also may not know. jus trying to share some info which i picked up during my nsf days. -
If I remember correctly (I orded in Dec 05), there is no hard and fast rule on your ICT must be 7 Hk and 3 Lk. But you must serve at least 10 work year worth of ICT. So what do I mean by that?
For example, SAF work year start from Apr 07 - Mar 08. Within this year, you are called up for 1 LK and 1 HK. This does not mean that you had cleared 2 ICT, it will be only consider as 1 ICT cleared. Do not forget that you are liable to be called up to a max of 40 days a year. So for example, you are called back for a Lk this month, they can still sent you a SAF 100 for another Hk in Feb. And it will only be count as 1 ICT for work year 2007.
Once you had served 10 work year of ICT, you will most likely to be posted to MR list. There is no more BIT, unless they had changed the 10 year cycle back to a 13 year cycle.
For example, I was called back for my 1st ICT in Nov 2006, and my 2nd ICT is in Feb 2008. Noted that my 2nd ICT is in 2008, but it will be consider as an ICT for work year 2007. Therefore, in year 2008, I will have another ICT any time after Apr.
So just think this way, you are 24 when you had your 1st ICT. Barring any major issues (went overseas study, work), you will finish your 10 year cycle by the age of 34. At that time, remember to push your unit to post you to the MR list, so you would not need to go for IPPT anymore. Otherwise, you will still have to attempt your IPPT until you are 40, even thou you had completed your cycle. -
From wat I know, so long as u dun defer ur ICT and hope ur unit calls u up for ICT each FY, then u should complete ur 10 yrs ICT and MR before u reach the aged of 35. No need to call u up for FFI too.

by the time most ppl reach 35. they will keng to get pes c. understood everywhere. dun need to say out such things one.
as for the hk and lk per wy. hk takes precedence over lk. its meant like that so that nsman can quickly chalk up 7 hks and prepare to mr. -
I think it is 7 High and 3 Low. For NSmen in combat units, you still need to go through ATEC.
For units who are super siao ON, who conducts ICT every year, you can expect to complete your 10 year cycle when you reach 30 years old. -
