ORD as 2LT

I thought all officers will get their 2nd chocolate bar before they ORD. But i saw 2 reservist officer as 2LT. are they condemned?

Not really lar, just means they might have gone out of course for their first OCC then got commissioned after subsequent recourse.

About 6 years ago, a mate of mine who was a 2SG in a specialised unit was commissioned while he was in the reserves.
He joked with us that he was the oldest "one-bar" in the country.
I understand that there are rare occasions like this where a senior specialist may get a commission based on certain criteria. -
Cdo nsf officers ord as 2LT... they only go to OCS after getting the red beret... so by the time they get their 1bar, there's less than 1 yr to go... therefore ord 1bar and only get their 2bar in reservist...

but yeah...my company had mostly CDOs, so it was fun when nearing ORD time, meeting them in their uniform with their 2LT -

i tink now all officers ord as 2LT only.. can someone cfm this?

NSF officers still ord as LTA...
The few possibilities to ORD as 2LT:
1) Poor Disciplinary Record -- Unit decide not to promote him
2) Unable to clear IPPT 2nd Window -- GOM say so
3) Got his 2LT rank late
4) Unit forgot to promote him !!
Basically those fall in these groups are less than 1% .. -

5) Some NSF trainers in the Formation Schools can get promoted slower than their active-unit counterparts.

I agree with the IPPT criterion, insomuch someone I served under was forewarned about it prior to ORD. He got his second bar in the end, after passing the re-test. -
