NS Duty Clerk's Duty/ Role/ Paperwork/ Administrative Work

A question for all clerks:
How strictly does your camp enforce it's duty clerk duties? IE. the duty clerk really must stay in the office until everyone else leaves etc. Or do they even have such thing as 'duty clerk'?
I think having a duty clerk is redundant. If everyone in the office just packs up their stuff properly there wouldn't be a need for any duty clerk. And having the duty clerk stay back (sometimes till late evening) until everyone else leaves the office is plain retarded. Just because some DXOs and WOs don't have lives doesn't mean everyone else doesn't. -

Depends what unit you serve in, but right from schools to battalion to division to higher hq all need duty clerks....
Remember, office or jungle, clerks or combatants... all are suppose to be standby 24/7 and operationally ready! -

I'm talking about smaller scale duty like office duty clerk within your own office. For eg. S1 branch duty clerk. -
there is still in my camp, and by rotation weekdays. if a dxo goes by really late just pass to that person lor then go back. or claim off, lucky i have nv got the chance to do it

For my case, there's this WO who always works late, so SOP is too just pass office key to her. Usually no problem. Problem is when some other anal-retentive WO or DXO wants to work late. Then by right must follow the book.."duty clerk must stay back until the last person leave the office".
There was once my friend was on duty and he had to stay back till almost 8pm and he was doing NOTHING after working hrs (530 or 6) just waiting for some WO to finish up work. -

If stay back late /do duty/etc. got reason then I fully understand. For eg. audit coming. if there are other nsfs who are staying back to do work, pass the keys to them la. or ask the who stay back, whether can lock up for u anot. or can u lve anot. tt's wat i always do.
i think it's how u handle this and not abt the policy. requires some balls too, cuz if anything happen. u will have to answer for it. -
