I was doing my e self update on ns.sg because I have recently became a buddhist .
I put free thinker when i went to cmpb to do my online registration .
I saw jenovah witness as one of the choices of religion .
the first time i never c this religion .
then i noticed it this time , isn't this a cult ?
if u chose that option , wad would happen to u ? -
Jehovah Witnesses work in DB if they refuse to pledge allegiance to the nation and SAF. They're treated differently from other offenders who are sent there for military offences.

As far as the SAF goes, JWs are only a problem if they refuse to do military service. Ditto any other conscientious objectors, on whatever basis.
Will the online admittance be forwarded to a Govt blacklist? Probably so, but I always thought they only legally charged anyone who owns or distribute the literature, or holds a meeting. (They can also dismiss any practitioner in their employ who refuses to sing the national anthem or salute the flag.) Otherwise, they're "tolerated" as a underground religion, i.e. no direct harassment or persecution. -
JW pledged allegiance and serve NS ? They will be frowned upon by their community and kicked out. I know one guy who converted to JW after NSF. Everytime, he is called up for reserist, he tries his best to defer. If cannot, then the JW community will rally behind him and take care of his family while he is in DB. What do the JWs do in DB during their 2 yrs NSF?
Are they doing support stuff like cooks/cleaners or are they like the other prisoners? -

Oh and did you know, when I went to DB to "loan" flowerpots from their nursery for my unit COC, I was so happy choosing the flowers and such...
Then when about to leave... the JW kid asked for money for the pots...receipts will be provided.. lol... MUST PAY!! -

They are charged by Court Martial and considered as detainees...
Of cos cannot la...!! -
2 years only...no offs/leaves... visits limited to 14/year...like leaves

Used to see some of them doing area-cleaning outside their camp in the morning when I was on guard duty. (The DB at Yew Tee was built next door to my camp during my NS time.) -
They are still detainees... which means whatever the normal brazilians players get... the english players get the same privilege... All are treated as detainees..

Court martial, lah. ~shrug~ That's what conscientious objectors do, you know? They reject military conscription. Without formal enlistment, there's only empty talkers.

The actual convictions break down as "15 months' jail as the initial sentence, to which 24 months are added upon a second refusal. Subsequent failures to perform required annual military reserve duty result in 40-day sentences; a 12-month sentence is usual after four such refusals."
I dunno any of them personally but, from my vantage point whenever I saw them, their supervisor surprisingly didn't watch over them as strictly as might be expected (it's DB, after all). They were quite free to walk to the rubbish dump, which was some distance away outside camp. But very hardworking, on the whole, very much like BMT recruits & maybe similarly "indoctrinated" too ~lol~
