Hey guys, do any of you know yet if you are being sent to Exercise Wallaby this year? If so, do you know what camp you will be placed at?

Guys....I only ask because I will be working at one of the camps,so I thought maybe you guys would like to know someone at your camp to talk to!

Ex-Wallaby will be from 21-29 October while Ex-Crescendo will be from 4-12 November.

Camp define as got proper toilet facilities, ops room, canteen, tentage bunks, vehicle sheds ... -
Actually, they aren't the dates for exercise wallaby........and their is no camp define....camp growl and sam hill are the only permanent camps.

I worked in the sam hill north camp kitchen last november. and yes, the canteen still has those chilli dogs. just a warning for anyone who doesn't eat pork....do not eat the kabana's....they are made of pork! the canteen girls think they are not....but they are!

No, I wasn't there in 2002....I've been there 2005, 2006 and now 2007. 2005 I was at Camp Growl Canteen and Kitchen, 2006 I was at Sam Hill North Camp Kitchen, this Year I am at Sam Hill North Kitchen again.
Well if you will be there from 21st october(3 days before my 21st birthday)...please come to kitchen and say hi!!! My friends and I would be happy to meet you! It's always good for you guys to have someone to talk to other than your army mates over here...it can be a bit strange being so far away from home, and it's not the easiest of conditions at Shoal Water Bay. Drink plenty of water...but not too much COLD water, as it can upset your stomach in the heat and make you sick. Sometimes water straight from the specified drinking taps is best in the heat. We have lots of rules out there and you guys need to try to obide by them, as like wasting water....all the water we have at the camps is from water tanks, that has to be bought in by trucks....so it's very precious.....last year a company of troops were wasting water in their showers and the rest of the camp ran out of water, so ofcourse, the kitchen could not cook, or clean the dishes, so meals were delayed until we could get another water truck out......that takes up to 3-4 hours......needless to say, the troops that wasted the water were disliked by everyone in camp, and their officers made them wait until last to be served their meals. The next time they showered their was no more water wastage. -
