Can MID vehicles be driven home?

STOMPer Fat Boi is intrigued by this car, bearing an "MID" licence plate, that has been parked in his neighbourhood HDB carpark for several months.
The STOMPer says that he also noticed an HDB carpark label prominently displayed in the front of the car windscreen.
"I am surprised MINDEF allows its staff to use its vehicles for personal transportation," the STOMPer adds.
STOMP has contacted MINDEF for comments.

GP cars...
are loan out to officers, both regulars and NSmen, usually of higher ranks. its a kind of convience provided to SAF personal that needs to travel, or stays far away from the base. -
they are paying the petrol used for driving back home.
correct me if i am wrong -
before i ORD, the chiefs in my camp drove their MID to work. but it was later changed to MID can only be driven for official use and is to be parked in camp.
the chiefs from then on drove their own cars to work, which is much more high class than their MIDs.

They're on rental. GP cars of this class are usually for WOs and they pay a mthly rental.

But i dun see anythign wrong driving home an MID car if their rank/appt allows for it. it's not like they are driving a Green Station Wagon or Command Jeep that is usually loaned to RSMs/COs

these are staff cars... COL estab are given either Proton or Ford white cars.. IIRC, 189 MID belongs to a COL in Jurong Camp or Armour Camp...Last time, these colonels can use the car and given a POL card to draw fuel for that car.. However, 80% of these fuel costs are borne by them. They have free use of the vehicle anytime since the MTL should have a vehicle allocated to them.
BG and above estab are given Grade 1 cars (Merc and Audi)..Service Chiefs are Black Mercs..Division Commanders and equivalent are in Audi.. -

These are personal allocated MID vehicles...
Those GP cars are normally with 4 digits.
example is like 11MID, etc...
and the petrol is... I think sponsor by SAF as well. They have their own POL cards which can be used in normal gas station or the top-up point in the camps.
