you know whats worst? most directors get to keep the car after 3 years, it something like a bonus for them.Originally posted by Gordonator:not as though those directors can't afford one thermselves.
You mean higher ranking officers do not have the money to afford to buy a car? Correct me if I am wrong, a MAJ or LT COL upwards should be drawing minimum 7K and they need to use vehicles paid for by taxpayers money.Originally posted by uglyguy:GP cars...
are loan out to officers, both regulars and NSmen, usually of higher ranks. its a kind of convience provided to SAF personal that needs to travel, or stays far away from the base.

oh yes i realised. i saw it there too.Originally posted by dakkon_blackblade:Hhhmm.....189....I think I saw the car parked outside the Meritus Mandarin hotel last weekend...I was wondering what it was doing there...
Yes, that's in a way true, but you first build your reputation on your character and personality first, then the car becomes a symbol of it. And it works. When I was serving NS, we used to look out for the car of my CSM. If it's there, we do our work. If not there, we relax. But the wily fox knew about this and sometimes he parked his car far away and walked over instead.Originally posted by mozzi190:What kind of a lame reason is tt?? now u need a Audi or Mercs to show your presence towards your men?? To be honest....i can't relli see the link here...presence and car...shdn't the reputation or presence of a military officer be build on something else?
