next time fight war also can outsource to bagala ok?Originally posted by crimean:maybe the camp commandant can arrange for a laundry company to provide laundry service in camp....
eg. the laundry co. van comes every twice a week. eg. tuesday n thursday, at a certain timing. it will then go to the unit or company line, where the soldiers would be waiting with their stinky smart 4 n worn clothings in a bag marked with their names.
they would then hand over their laundry to the co., n then the co. goes back to their shop to wash their uniform, n then return the clean washed n ironed uniform back to the soldiers.
then these soldiers would be billed at the end of the month.
n if any changes in the collection/delivery timing or day (eg. due to outfield exercises), the company clerk would have to inform the laundry company.
good idea bo? can include in ur USMS...

In my time, a lot of us eventually got around to doing this after settling into unit life. Usually, it's done Friday night or Sunday morn -- 15 minutes of rigorous washing, tops, with free water supply & the whole bathroom floor to splash it on -- & then hanging them indoors to dry over the weekend before we booked out.
That siong, meh? Aren't you already washing your dirty underwears daily?

A piece and its the 1980s?Originally posted by specfore:My time in Nee Soon camp in the 1980s.... there was a Indian runned laundry. The old fashioned way... they boiled your clothes in large tubs of water. Then they hang up under a shed to dry.
It is reasonably clean but somehow because they use some kind of cheap soap powder, the uniforms don't smell very nice.
Service was quite good, they will come and collect your dirty laundry on a Friday evening. You can either collect from their shed any day, or they will bring to you on a Sunday evening.
I remember it costs 50 cents for each piece... so for a no. 4 , it cost me $ 1.
n you r complaining the allowance not enough...still can have laundry serviceOriginally posted by crimean:maybe the camp commandant can arrange for a laundry company to provide laundry service in camp....
