Yeah but let's say I already worked 8am to 6pm or 530pm from Monday to Friday. Then I still have 24hr ops room duty on Saturday...that's more than 5 days a week...Originally posted by venny:it doesnt apply to shift work. eg: rp..... 5day is 5 day. shift is shift.
thankfully no...Originally posted by venny:tio extra?
it simply means u only work from Mon to Fri only. if public falls on sat/sun, u get off on monday.Originally posted by k2406:Just saw the manpower directive on 5 day work week in SAF.
When it states that NSF is entitled to off-in-lieu when working on Saturdays, does this extend to regimental duties like ops room duty, guard room orderly etc.?
Seems like some camps give off to NSF who do these duties on weekends while others do not...
Hmm. RSAF ah. Then it won't be good enough 'evidence' to bring up to the top brass of my unit at the next 'sharing session'.Originally posted by ^tamago^:Usually it's an Air Force camp that gives off-in-lieu's to those who do regimental duties on weekends.
Mine was at the discretion of my CSM.Originally posted by k2406:Hmm. RSAF ah. Then it won't be good enough 'evidence' to bring up to the top brass of my unit at the next 'sharing session'.
Our commander seems to be quite keen on standardising practices. Any other camps in ARMY which give off-in-lieu for regimental duties performed on weekends?
Not in my camp.Originally posted by caleb_chiang:normally weekend duties are for those with extras...

Yes. I totally agree. But working Monday TO Friday PLUS Saturday or Sunday equals 6 days, no?Originally posted by KoolKool:5 day work week is opened to interpretation.
Banks also go on 5 day workweek, but now Saturday and Sunday also opened.
For Government offices that require work on weekends, ie open for public access, then 5 days workweek can be Tuesday and Wednesday off. Otherwise, from 5 1/2 days shortened to 5 days, cannot take time off to go to the bank, make passport, etc. Then Saturday and Sunday ICA also closed because also 5 day workweek. How to function ?
So, 5 days workweek should mean you work any 5 days of the week, including Saturday and Sunday of necessary.
I really cannot stand this line. No offence to kiddyduck...I'm not flaming. Haha.Originally posted by kiddyduck:5. You still must fight a war on a Sat n Sun... doesnt mean you only fight on Mon-Fri....

Now its 2 years, and still want 5 days !
