5 Day Work Week?

Just saw the manpower directive on 5 day work week in SAF.
When it states that NSF is entitled to off-in-lieu when working on Saturdays, does this extend to regimental duties like ops room duty, guard room orderly etc.?
Seems like some camps give off to NSF who do these duties on weekends while others do not... -
it doesnt apply to shift work. eg: rp..... 5day is 5 day. shift is shift.

hmm hw should i say this. ur on 5 days work week but ur on 24 hrs standby... off are given at the discreption of ur boss...

Unless its confirmed that regimental duties is NOT considered 'working on Saturday' as in the directive... -

Usually it's an Air Force camp that gives off-in-lieu's to those who do regimental duties on weekends.

Everyone will tio weekend duties. Just a matter of how many. I tio once this month and once next month.
And its not limited to guys with extra. There's this guy with like 5 extras to clear but he's not the only one doing weekend duty.

5 day work week is opened to interpretation.
Banks also go on 5 day workweek, but now Saturday and Sunday also opened.
For Government offices that require work on weekends, ie open for public access, then 5 days workweek can be Tuesday and Wednesday off. Otherwise, from 5 1/2 days shortened to 5 days, cannot take time off to go to the bank, make passport, etc. Then Saturday and Sunday ICA also closed because also 5 day workweek. How to function ?
So, 5 days workweek should mean you work any 5 days of the week, including Saturday and Sunday of necessary. -
If you try to read the directive carefully.... There are some conditions or regulations to be met:
1. Your unit will try to match and give 5 day work same as regulars...
2. Off-in-lieu can be given to NSFs who came back camp during weekends, but it is up to your commanders' considerations.
3. NSFs fall under the Enlistment Act.... Not under the Employment Act... Only Employees which are employed by an organisation are entitled 5 -day work week... NSF is serving the their NS liability and on 24hrs standby...
4. Regimental duties are regimental duties... Off-in-lieu is based on individual units... up to the commanders decision.
5. You still must fight a war on a Sat n Sun... doesnt mean you only fight on Mon-Fri.... -

When fulltime NS was 2.5 years, and 5.5 days workweek, people say they will do anything if it can be shorter than 2.5 years.
Now its 2 years, and still want 5 days ! -
