if u read the book warrior elite which is about the trials and tribulations of a BUD/S class on being a seal...u will know that alot of their Phase 1 training is in the Pool...
some of their trainings include swimming whole lengths of the pool underwater with a breath of air...and things like that...
very tough training..not for the faint of heart -
Holding your breath for the length of the pool is quite insane! But I dun think it is drownproofing. Drownproofing should include restriction on limbs right?
Anyway in Singapore you cant expect to have this kind of training. Whenever bad news breaks, the whole island knows. In USA, only maybe that tiny part of San Diego may ever come to hear of it, which I am sure majority of the population is accustomed to that.
And lastly, SEAL students are not conscripted for the Navy SEALs, they volunteered. So yes, IMHO thats a major point to consider.

They volunteered... majority of us are forced... I think you say that one more time, the forumers who had not gone through NS will hantam you...

Americans is they signed up as a career and not conscripted.. so they have a choice...
There will be lots of TSR if SAF is gonna implement this -
