  think can go one. coz i went to holidays in febuary when i enlisting in april, beside i already got my letter of enlistment liao. i hav called the ns hotline to check wid them. they say can. u can try calling them to ask

  You can go all the way up till you are enlisted without having to inform anybody.

  For pre-enlistees, must apply for exit permit if overseas for more than 3 months.

  so far i haven receive enlistment letter yet but i going for overseas holiday for abt 1 week on nov 22nd. am i able to make it? what if i got the letter then cannot go alrdy?

  Can go overseas "freely" even after receiving letter. Needs exit permit & to pay bond only if away for more than 3 months (for 16 1/2 years till enlistment).

  go CMPB with printout of itinerary and bang table for such short notice and defer until next intake usually within 3 months.

  The standard is at least a fortnight's advance notice, so no need to worry if you're away only for one week.

  Minimum two weeks' advance notice. Like if your enlistment date's on the 16th of this month, they'll inform you by letter & online latest today -- i.e. at least 14 days ahead -- & not on a later date.

  huh u mean got possiblity tt i will receive letter for enlistment merely 2 weeks before? not 2 mths meh?
  
  i haf called cmpb 3 times to confirm and confirm wif them and all of them said tt my enlistment shld be btw dec to mar most prob end of this year. however they wasn't sure when my letter will come. so right now what i am afraid is tt the enlistment letter will suddenly pop in telling me to enlist next month although i am going overseas on nov 22 for abt 8 days. i am realli worried. if i am going for ptp will tt happen anot cos is 1 mth earlier?

  Look. There are people who received it 2 days before because CMPB screwed up. If you have an issue and have the documentation to prove it, go to CMPB Service Centre and show and ask for 3-month deferment.
  
  Whatever they said, 80% is likely but if anything happens just go down ask politely or bang table also can, as long as you can show them your inetrary.

  i checked my enlistment status in ns portal and it states there my enlistment is btw dec 2007 to may 2008. and i haf called the hotline 3 times to confirm wif them and they say at least dec this year. but i am still worried the letter will suddenly pop in for me to enlist on nov. and also do i haf to notify cmpb becos i see a link in the website saying notify overseas trip. its less than 3 mths..merely abt 8 days
