you might not end up being a warrant even if you signed on, given the screwed up PP1/2 system.Originally posted by strado:To be a WO, you must sign on as spec first right? Then slowly promote to WO?

What is Stilleto and what does CDO means?Originally posted by blitzonic:Oh, you mean that kind of sword.
I was thinking of the Stilleto, which I suppose is more of a dagger/knife (& awarded to CDOs, not GDSmen -- mea culpa). Of course, every servicemen owns a jackknife too, to argue it that way ....
Will your name be craved on to the Bayonet upon graduation of SISPEC like those Ceremonial Sword craved with Officer's Rank and Name on the Sword too?Originally posted by sir sickolot II:you might not end up being a warrant even if you signed on, given the screwed up PP1/2 system.
in any case yea with regards to my previous reply sometime back, i kinda left out than than Officers, Warrant Officers on parade as Parade RSM also carry swords. But they don't unsheath it...
But for NSFs.. you want a ceremonial sword, earn it in OCS.
You wanna a bayonet, earn it in the spec courses.
You want a stilleto, i'm not sure if you pass out as a CDO will you get one, but at least you will get to feel one! haha
RSM = Regimental Sergeant Major. Now they trying to change image of being like a discipline master who enforce regimentation, so RSMs are renamed as "School Sergeant Major", Brigade Sergeant Major, etc. Basically the discipline master or what the 3G army calls the "WOSE's mentor" and example.Originally posted by specialOps:WO can be NSmen, but of course not NSF, there's not enough time to promote.
Most NS units' CSM, RSM, BSM, etc. are all NSmen who were never regular in their life., but it takes at least 7 - 10 years of NSman service to promote to WO.
Really respect them, most of them volunteered to go for all the courses, and to go back ICT earlier and beyond their normal duty to serve the rest and make sure everyone is ok, same as NSmen RQMS who're also WO.
Just 1-2 yrs ago, all CSM were regular SSG and above, nowaday notice that now got NSF CSM also, but hold 2SG rank? They will be those who will go thru all the courses and slowly promote in NSman lifetime.
No, they are not given the ceremonial swords; and 'given' means to be made as his personal belonging.Originally posted by the_fallen:RSM = Regimental Sergeant Major. So CSM = Company Sergeant Major
RSM = Regimental Sergeant Major
BSM = Brigade Sergeant Major
SSM = School Sergeant Major
What's the difference between these CSM, RSM, BSM, SSM and what do they do actually? Are allll of them are given the ceremonial sword?
CDO are commandos .... stilleto is a short dagger... if u dunno how it look like, go see the unit emblem.....Originally posted by sir sickolot II:you might not end up being a warrant even if you signed on, given the screwed up PP1/2 system.
