Ghillie Suit

Trying to make one for my own experiment (Yah.. I'm darn free these days :mrgreen
Does anyone know where I can get the burlap (or any type of cloth used to sew onto the suit)?
If any ex-snipers (eg tchiew) could help thks alot

Actually, I thought SAF issue suits for snipers, they don't have to make their own unlike the US snipers -

During my time (ord in 96), we had to make our own. The material used is issued by SAF but was insufficient (one large sheet). Think some of the guys did get more from beach road.
What i did was to blend with different materials e.g. using cloth from my camo scraf and camo net for tonners and rovers. The later are the best, material is sturdy and looks damn good
Had to puck them from the tonners though *shhhh shhhh *
Btw, we had to make camo jacket for the rifle and spotter bino/scope too ... that was a bitch! -
u can get burlap from those old old type provisions shop where they use it to store chilis, grains, etc. they're also good for wrapping up your rifle.

Do you all happen to know what time beach road closes and if camo netting for tonners can be bought there?
Ah btw just for clarification, this ghillie suit I'm making is for a potential photoshoot-a commercial one. So it has to look pretty authentic. (I'm not inclined to buy off the internet as I think it'd be cheaper to make it myself, and it'd be a good experience anyway) -
if it's for commercial i SERIOUSLY suggest u buy one instead. saves the hassle and money... it could take months to do up a proper ghillie and it still wouldn't look authentic unless you're an experienced maker.

Oh.. the shoot isn't for another year or so. Hi, not an authority on snipers but just a suggestion....
if you have one year's leadtime, why don't you spread the word ( thru' Sgforums) to borrow or loan one from a real sniper out there.
You can also try buying one from overseas ( army surplus or hunting equipment store). I think I saw one some time ago in an army surplus store. -

I did this in about 2 hours. (Recce hat modded)
Can anyone advise? Give some pointers? (tchiew help )
