Land Rover speed limit

Can anyone tell me why land rover has a speed limit of 50km/h? Is it meant for the drivers or the vehichle i.e. vehichle cannot take speeds faster than 50km/h?
If the answer is the latter, then wartime how? -

Becos.... most NSF who owns military license are all either new or inexperience....
So 50km/h is nice enough....
And the speed limit is only for peacetime mode....wartime obviously that rule is... erm overruled... -

All military vehicles can go past 50km/hr, the max speed for a rover i'm not sure but a 5Ton can go up to 110km/hr if i didn't remember wrong.
Rover and most of the old manual vehicles speed is controlled by the SWD which will beep whenever the driver goes above the speed limit and if the counter jumps, the driver will get into trouble cause its a sign he speed for a considerable distance. Some drivers who like want to speed sometimes will disconnect the SWD but once discovered i think its going to be alot of extra if not even charge.
5 Ton speed limit is program into the ECU so its harder for drivers to just speed with the 5 Ton, there are ways of cause which i know but thats something confidential and the last thing we need is any drivers knowing the way to do it...
Speed limit of 50 is set by SAF i would say more for protection of the drivers and other road users as many SAF drivers are not very experience and going slow gives them more time to react. In war all such devices and programs to control vehicle speed can be easily disabled to let the vehicles reach their respective max speed. -

If the SWD isn't beeping then the maintainance people are in trouble, since it means they either never do a proper inspection or so heng the SWD spoiled inbetween inspection. Our job is just to make sure the vehicles are working well and such 'safety' devices are working properly. -

Yeah, thats why 50 is slow but lan lan accept it. You wanna drive a MID vehicle you have to keep to such limits especially on sg roads. Once the counter jumps, someone must answer for it cause its something that is check during audits. Maintainance side we are unlikely to ever be willing to take the blame so any counter jump we will demand transport for an explaination. At least thats what i do and counter jumps is 1 of the rarest thing i ask statements for. Sometimes read statements still sian, somehow some feels like got template somemore.
L/R AMB i am not sure since i hardly ever touched that vehicle but logically it should be able to go above 50km. If you want to save someone, crawling at 50km i think the person rather call a cab. -

this bring me to a story of mine..
i was the DO for the day and in the middle of the night there WAS a real emergency. basically i ask the driver to speed to nee soon medical which was the first place we are suppose to report in unusual hours. and he look at me and ask me "sir u sure or not?!?!?" IN AN EMERGENCY?? like wtf i had to say "yaya anything i ta" den he chiong. war all die liao driver all scared to speed in rover cause of SWD. hahaha
