  But honestly in WW2, a lot of veterans of the Soviet Army were awarded medals for all sorts of things.

  Who knows... the "you spoke well of Stalin medal" may well have existed, being named "Patriotic Party Medal" or "Medal of Politburo" (Medal of Congress anyone?)

  anyway the picture of MG kuek shows he has 5 medals, but the bottom right and bottom middle medals are not displayed on the number 1 he wore in the first post, did he choose not to display it or is there other reasons?

  medals and service bar are not the same.

  except for the top 3 medals on LG Ng's Uniform, the rest are foreign decorations, if i'm not wrong.
  
  Once you become a Service Chief, foreign nations will start dishing out cute medals for you. It's a way of maintaining good foreign relations. To the person, more "kou yok" to put on his already heavy uniform.

  If he has the trident of the SEALS, it would take precedence over the airborne badges on the right chest portion of his uniform.

  he also has the airborne glider (which i just found out the name)

  I once saw a MWO with the same badges + US Air Assault badge. CDO and Master Paramedic too.

  In the UK military, Generals and below customarily (but are not required) to salute all Victoria Cross holders, like when Gen Sir Mike Jackson (Chief of General Staff) saluted to Private Johnson Beharry when Private Beharry was awarded his VC together with Gen Jackson who was being knighted.

  it's not a fair comparison to say the top chiefs have less medals...afterall, the US is always in some campaign or another, so there are medals to be earned, decorations to be put up.
  
  our chiefs can only chalk up service years, if that's worth mentioning.....
  
  btw... if Commander OCS is SEAL-trained, he should have placed that big trident ma... it supercedes all foreign wings.... guess it's up to his mood
  
  Special forces tab...ah i rem i ex-Commander was Special Forces trained. The rare few SG's to be trained in it. However, in the US Special Forces are a formation, so the tab is similar to the Guards tab of SG. Of course, the requirements and torture are miles apart
