As far as I know, Singaporeans can give up their citizenship. As far as I know if you give up your citizenship, you don't have to do NS.... so what is the problem with giving it up one month before?

once you are no longer a citizen, you are not under Mindef's jurisdiction... laws that apply to citizens do not apply to you...
