huh? you seriously interested ah? you can fly there by budget air line... one way (excluding fuel tax and airport taxes) can cost (depends on how far advance you book)
You can stay at the dormitories for maybe US$4/- (S$5-6), I heard, never tried... per day and your food, if you eat at the road side stalls can cost US$4/- per day also.... -
if you keep to the main roads... very safe even in the middle of the night... hahaha I always do that... walk around in the middle of the night, but on the main roads (not sure about the safety of the small lanes... and back lanes... I never tried....)

For your information, with regards to surrendering of citizenship, you can only do so before the ages of 13 (as far as I can remember, seems to be a new amendment to the Enlistment Act regarding the cut-off age when you are ) or after you have turned 21. Your parents would have had to submit a letter of intention to the Singapore Government that you will be submitting his renunciation(surrender) of citizenship application upon reaching 21 years of age.
At the age of 17, when NS registration begins, you will then have to apply for a deferment till you are 21. This is in accordance with your letter of intent to renounce that you must have submitted by the age of 13.
Dual citizenship is allowed by Singapore for children under the age of 21 as per ICA regulations. However, legally speaking, you have to decide by the age of 21, of course by then you would have enlisted and probably on your way out of NS.
You will have to serve your National Service if you have never declared your intention to renounce.
That's the legal way.
Others have posted a $75k bond and left the country, never to return, and the bond is forfeited. However, you will have committed an offence under the SAF Enlistment Act for failing to report for Enlistment.
Let's stick to the issue at hand and not drag in any more politics. This ain't Speakers' Corner, so let's focus on the issue here.
If you are keen, talk to your embassy and the ICA. That's the best way to go. -
As for NSMen, once you have renounced your citizenship and have received notification and confirmation of this from the ICA, your NS liabilities will no longer apply to you.
Simple, you're not a Singaporean anymore. -
