It's siong in terms of learning new skills, but you ask those who served on the old school MGBs..doing watch in choppy waters, everything done by hand..Originally posted by SBS3625D:FFG is siong.
But I have to agree about the attitude part.
However some like my chief chose to go to FFG to try something new. And I like his attitude. He's practically as clueless as me and yet he is always learning. Like this motivates us.
Every forces got their own problem. Do u know the bigger the ship, the more u need to sail and longer journey? The harsdhip is more with associating with long time away from home, friends and love one(Can u imagine 3 months away from Singpaore and the moment u come back,yr wife ran off with another guy?).Originally posted by LazerLordz:Then make it the best you can do.
Sigh, sometimes so many regulars don't understand the big picture.. and NSFs too. It's a learning experience to man a front-line frigate, not something shameful to avoid.
Especially those regulars who complain that a posting is hardship. For goodness sake, there's a reason why you signed up to wear the damned uniform in the first place.
Formidable FFGs.. siong? Siong my ass. They should thank their lucky stars they're not on the Swift Chieftain class Patrol Craft.

And the stupid ops which is sometimes 24hr non stop! Mentally exhausting...
It is not fun to be a seaman.. Trust me!

If u know such things, will u sign on?Originally posted by JasonC:then why sign up as a regular in the first place?
my point exactly.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Age old problem of people signing on merely for the pay and job security.
Paper work is even worst,I rather sweat more... Actually it is the higher authority mismanagement that killed the interest of all those with passion.Originally posted by JasonC:my point exactly.
If one signs on the dotted line without considering both sides of the coin, that's the situation that develops.
I find it hard to pity those who sign up just for the benefits, only to regret later. Its the dammed armed forces; surely you don't expect to sit in an office and handle paperwork only?
Hmm..Originally posted by zenden9:Paper work is even worst,I rather sweat more... Actually it is the higher authority mismanagement that killed the interest of all those with passion.
