Adding Bayonet into the Picture will be good.
Since any weapon or related items are lost, it's considered a charging offense (if i'm not wrong or at least from what i've heard)
Having a platoon mate losing bayonet during field-camp means that it's as good as losing a life (since it might be used to kill another person)
Thus in the event of losing this bayonet, immediately report it to the superiors so that they can narrow down the search and thus lessen any more trouble up ahead if it's only being report back after the field- camp
As for losing it during Guard-Duty, the impact will not be that great as the places of search are limited.
Back to M16S1.
Any parts that's lost, just report, at most confinement if not DB..
But come to think of it, it's not easy to lose the items inside the riffle if u were to look at it.
As cleaning of riffle is only done at certain times of the day etc...
Thus there should not be any losing of items inside..
The one thing to take note is magazine, as some riffles are old, and there's a tendency that it might drop, so i think black tape will than come into the picture by than..
Note: I will not elaborate on the names nor the exact stuffs inside the riffle since it's part of SAF secrets which can't supposed even to be written/ bring outside (be it verbally or visually) Tekong/ each respective units/camps etc.
Yeah! This one is like the case where the camp guard from 1SIR took it to show his girlfriend and was caught at Orchard Cineleisure.Originally posted by LazerLordz:To add on to the above, please do not try to be stupid and take parts of your weapon out of camp for the sheer challenge of it.
But then, thats why in BMT, they always ask Recruits to cock and then send arms so that the CDO and armskoteman can double check clear and also see if the inside mechanisms are still there.Originally posted by nightzip:Yeah! Here's what I'd like to advise you guys. Whatever parts you may get at Beach Road, is not range-certified nor may it stand up to safe usage in your exercises.

To add on:
During Range
If You Encountered IA ( when the bullets dont come out when after you press the Trigger), DO NOT, continue pressing it ( unless u want a chamber explosion if it's double feeding)
Either do the IA procedures or pass it to the ArmStroke Specalist ( correct me if i m wrong, i forgot the term) sitting nearby.
And in a range only point the rifle towards the target, and not anyone where else.

got diff kinds.Originally posted by SBS3625D:Hold a second, I think press many times after IA also no diff leh.
Either the bolt move forward but the magazine loose so the bullet doesn't feed into the chamber.
Or, the hammer is released and strikes the primer but no reaction. So no recoil = the bolt carrier doesn't go back and feed another round = hammer is not cocked = press trigger again, no reaction from hammer.
I think so.
No, Armament Spec.Originally posted by sLeEpWaLkErInG:Lazerlord SIW specialist ar?

does not really matter whether double feeding or no feeding, once you squeeze the trigger, and there is double feeding, there won't be enough energy to push the bolt carrier back, tested and proven. the energy from the explosion of the previous round is used to reload the next round if u get what i mean. sorry for the crude terms, i swear that army makes u stupidOriginally posted by kenn3th:got diff kinds.
IA no feeding
IA Double Feeding ( Dangerous, i encountered b4, twice in a range session)
