6 SIR? I went to Brunei with them in my time. They were housed at Taman Jurong then, but not sure cuz I know a number of SIR units were once based there.
*reminisces* 5 weeks of hell, man, away from civilisation. Can say I was truly grown-up after my return.
To T/S: Better change your mindset if you're fated to be rifleman. If you stay with the unit, you'll definitely kena jungle-training. Possibly ROC, Thailand, etc. too, for overseas exercises. -

U all sure infantry die first??
in USA case, since their army is designed both to invade and defend, their commandos / crack troops will be the first to die since they need to infiltrate into enemy's base.
before the enemies meet the those normal infantry... they will meet with other special group first... hence not first to die
in SG case, since our army has never been meant to invade or conquer any countries, our infantry will be the 1st to go and die.
this is because our army is more like guarding the country waiting for enemy to come. when enemy come, all we can do is to send infantry to drive them back.
in such cases, our crack troops won't have much use, unless you're like, planning to send them overseas to crack into enemy's base, which is a death sentence, obviously. -

tekong got more levels of check... heard from some mono intake ppl that their sergeants are more "no government" than those at tekong... -

Anyway, just do ur best in whatever you do lah, don't care u mat or nerdy, as long as u help ur section and platton mates, and don't cause them to be punished ok liao. -
