Ermm, that is what we are taught rite during field camp?... not suppose to salute officers

Militaries either adopt a no salute or salute to everyone policy. Maybe we should also adopt such policies while on field exercise, else it will be too confusing during the real deal.

actually.. i still see ppl saluting those officers(normally big shots) while in outfield la..

i forgot what show or book issit that i saw.. this 2LT on mission with his men then act seh die die don't want take off epulette, want to show off chocolate bar.. den walk walk suddenly kena headshot by snipers..

even in war you need a visible rank to show who the fish are you....
so officers will still don their ranks, but should wear full battle gear to hide themselves well...
and snipers are trained to watch out for salutes and what not, so in the battlefield i think salutes are a big no-no.
i think MSG the most glaring one.. rank so big... esp on long 4. The Offciers and WOs can hide their rank using LBV/webbing. -

In WW2, officers carried pistols, so what some of then did was to carry their M-1 Rifle like a regular G.I. to make them look like one of the men. Carrying a pistol around was like making yourself an easy target for snipers.
