I always lived far away from my camps too, & it's anecdotes like this that makes me glad I was stay-in. Tahan-ed active time by treating my camp as "home" itelf, to the extent that I was willing to do Saturday duties (but not Sundays, please) as long as I could accumulate off-in-lieus & book out every nights-off to wind down.
For reservist, I'm one of the few -- other than duty personnel, etc. -- who used to sleep over inside camp too. The rest of the BN would rather book out whenever possible, even if it was 1:30 am & they're supposed to report by 5 in the morn. (Boy, were the guardroom at Khatib always surprised by the sudden surge of cars driving in & out.) For me, I'd rather get the proper rest &, accordingly, treat the evening hours like a night-off & meet up with kakis for a movie or drinking session at the nearest Town Centre.

Our guys are mostly PES B/C and do carry arms. Unless you talking about people in HQ which are clerks etc but definitely not my HQ at least since we have lots of infantry man for guard duty without touching admin guys :p -

You can try to talk to ur CSM... even he is a very fierce or unapproachable person..
But you must remember not to jump the "chain of command"... if u approach your your Capts or Majs... and you pissed your CSM.. and that will be hell for you... Just tell him that you want to follow the chain of command and sort things out with him... I think he will understand and may consider your appeal..
Only after talking to him and have no avail... then approach your OC or someone else. In order to solve this problem is through communication... any other way you as a NSF will definitely lose out. -

Nah, I felt Ayukat's scenario was quite similar to that in a DSMB in the past. -
Maybe your battalion not mine :p Anyway, the only clerks we have in our fomrations are in batt HQ and all the batt HQ are located in camps where there will sure be combat units to clear the guards for guard duty 1. How can be ours?Originally posted by LazerLordz:Was I right?
