see see see.. even regular will also leave the force to be ex-regular. all be cos of the degree and most importantly... the 6 years "lock you in" contract.Originally posted by citymax:I always very objective on the propects of signing on with the SAF.
I sign on as a specialist with the Army and already served the force for 6 years, doing quite okay. I obtain IPPT Gold every year.
Army provides you alot of exposure too, i makes alot of coperate world friends too. Personally, there is alot of naive people still inside the forces that thinks that Army will feed them for life which is not true. You need to earn it, you need to sacrifice time, friends, and even your loved ones.
I will be leaving the forces next year when i get my degree next year, if your bf is considering getting a degree but only had a specialist post, then better dont sign on.
yes, for how soon?Originally posted by will4:Is it true for specialist who signed on n managed to get their degree are able to be promoted to MWO or SWO faster than diploma or A level holders?
I understand MWO Parthiban has a bachelor degree in business administration.

You must be kidding. Not even all the SAFOS scholars get to go to advanced management programme overseas. A farmer who only made COL can forget abt it.Originally posted by LazerLordz:If he can make COL, I'm sure he can push for Advanced Management courses at Harvard.
I'm sure he could transition into ST or some defence-related GLC without a hitch.
