and lastly...if a WO sees a jr commisioned officer, mus he/she salute?
Most MOs are NSF but some especially those above CPT should be regulars.Originally posted by Freedom Fighter:are thhey regulars or NSFs too?

but all MOs are CPTs right? all the MOs in pulau tekong medical centres are.Originally posted by dkcx:Most MOs are NSF but some especially those above CPT should be regulars.
CPT for MO, LTA for officers, 2SG (internal promotion) for specs.
On parade yes, generally most won't and 2LT would almost never demand a WO to salute him anywhere else but during a parade.
hello MR today no go work?Originally posted by de_middle:yeah SWO also must greet 2LT "SIR"
All MOs are CPT i think. I don't visit medical centers often enough to observe.Originally posted by Freedom Fighter:but all MOs are CPTs right? all the MOs in pulau tekong medical centres are.
so MO go to OCS too?
so im guessing MOs are of utmost importance to the SAF
i see, thanks dkcx broOriginally posted by dkcx:All MOs are CPT i think. I don't visit medical centers often enough to observe.
They are still required to go through OCS but i think the training might not be exactly the same since their focus is not going to be combat but that i am not sure.
There is no vocation that is utmost important in SAF. All vocations from commando down to the clerk are important to the SAF.
Training has been changing all the time. Many things like urban ops etc being done in BMT was not done during my time. If theres more content they need to add which can't be covered in 13 weeks, its not impossible to extend BMT to 17 weeks or more.Originally posted by Freedom Fighter:i see, thanks dkcx bro
btw i heard rumours in my company office that in the near future PTP batch fellas will have their BMT extended from 13 weeks to 17 weeks, do u think it will happen?
MOs are captains...Originally posted by kenn3th:Q2: 1st lta
Q3: By right yes, but normally they just acknowledge each other.
Inf specs that pass out PS course will be 2SG(not internal Promotion)Originally posted by dkcx:Most MOs are NSF but some especially those above CPT should be regulars.

They get 2SG NSF pay? I thought the pay scale only go up till 3SG so i didn't know any of the 2SG were official promoted since most of those i heard are internal promotion in combat units.Originally posted by Rockhound:Inf specs that pass out PS course will be 2SG(not internal Promotion)
Am I right to say that PES C MOs are only given the rank of LTA and are Nursing Officers?Originally posted by Rockhound:MOs are captains...
the lowest ranked MO i ever seen was 3rd sergeant..kana demote
Theoretically speaking, NSF rank pay stretches to SWO.Originally posted by dkcx:They get 2SG NSF pay? I thought the pay scale only go up till 3SG so i didn't know any of the 2SG were official promoted since most of those i heard are internal promotion in combat units.

I saw it in the GOM once.
Anyway, MSCC graduates are in line for 2SG, at least that's what was discussed.
yeap, i guess it would be the ultimate insult to call a doctor which went through dunno how many years of medicine school to be called a nurse lol.Originally posted by Rockhound:nope....
nursing officers have a degree in nursing...
it would be wrong and unsightly to call them nursing officers
Sorry for the unintended insult, because I have been hearing that for a bit.Originally posted by snk86:yeap, i guess it would be the ultimate insult to call a doctor which went through dunno how many years of medicine school to be called a nurse lol.
trivial though, MO's that FLUNK MOCC(medical officer conversion course), are give the rank 3SG, and are generally refered to as Dr, but if you GL, can always call them SGT DR blah blah lah, in my 1plus years in medical service, i only know one such person, and well, he deserve it.
we talking abt the PTMC one rite?Originally posted by snk86:yeap, i guess it would be the ultimate insult to call a doctor which went through dunno how many years of medicine school to be called a nurse lol.

still get captain..i gez can be said...appointmental rankOriginally posted by LazerLordz:Sorry for the unintended insult, because I have been hearing that for a bit.
Anyway, thanks for the clarification. But does that mean a PES C soldier with a medical degree still gets his CPT(DR) or is not eligible for MOCC.
yes it is an appointmental rank, but deservingly so if his job is to save lives. that in itself deserves a salute.Originally posted by Rockhound:still get captain..i gez can be said...appointmental rank
