Do you guys know which camp, besides 40, is a stay-in camp even for clerks? Is there a choice?
I'm a clerk, but I'm wearing no.4? I don't understand.. I thought clerks wear no.3.. And I have to stay-in and only wed nights off...
Although I book out earlier then the rest of the battlelion on friday
Is it because I'm pes b? But I'm pending downgrading, I have to wait for the MO that knows my condition best to be back from course.. Cause the MO now is a reservist and knows nothing about my condition... -

During my nsf days , i was a driver in a sce unit , we had to report to mtl at 7.45am and will knock off at 5pm , but we still must stay in , tue & thur night off , sat b4 lunch , we book out.
Everyday after 5pm , we play soccer or go mess play pool/ping pong , or if someone brought a good dvd , we will watch movies. . . after which , go back bunk , bath and sleep , while some will gamble , till 2 to 3am... -
I think everyone in combat units are required to stay in even the clerks.
Drivers stay in regardless where they go since they are supposed to be 24hrs standby and can be activated anytime in emergency. -
Actually there is some point to it sometimes... once one man fell out of bunk during the night, injured his neck, then had to wait 30 mins+ at medical centre because the ambulance driver went dunno where. So sometimes there is a need to have stay in, though in this instance it is more that the duty guy didn't do his duty rather than because too many people stay out.

I loved wearing no.4 and I worked in an office.
Seriously, you wouldn't want to iron that no.3 daily. -

ahhh , for my unit , i think they are really wasting money , to keep us drivers (40plus drivers) in camp....
They 100% dont need us after 5pm , not once in my 1 1/2yrs , was i called back to mtl after 5pm to drive or do other stuffs.
Anyway , everyday ..... There will be 1 duty driver , 2 ambulance driver and 4 stand by force driver = 7 drivers .
The rest of 30+++ , got noting to do. . . . Anyways duties are usually done by a small group of drivers , Cos they always sign extra.... hahaha , lucky for me i only do duty once or twice a month , and always on weekday. -

Its a norm for all drivers to stayin. hahaha yalar , but to tell you the truth , i dont mind at all staying in camp ,
After 5pm , play soccer , watch dvd , play ping/pong , play pool ... and also once in awhile buy tiger beer , sit down talk cock untill quite late at night ...
Tue & thur , night off is quite ok by me , Cos my dad will pick me up from camp and later on at night send me back , Den sat by lunch time , Book out & monday morning come back. -
Actually the fellow who "fail sleeping" was an OCT, future leader! The driver I agree can't do that, but for some reason during my time the whole logistics side really mess up. There was once , a c.o.s on duty , when back to bunk to make maggi mee , come back liao the D.o waiting for him at coy office , Next day he was awarded 7extra. -
SAF's mentality is this, they will rather have u on standby but don't need u as compared to need u but u are not around.

dude trust me,you don't want to wait for our Dr Kwong to come back. he will slay you man.
and trust me, once you are in 40. there is not much way out, and since u are in one of our wonderful S-branchs, you e1l9 also stay in camp wear no4 ha. oh we love to keep people too. -
All the clerks in my old Arty outfit wore No.4 in my time. Heck, there were only two who wore No.3's in my entire unit, the Chief Clerk & a Sarge in the Medical Centre, incidentally both regulars & females.
Can't remember if the clerks stayed out. But I reckon so, even though we were operational, cuz HQ BTY occupied only the top floor of the building block & the bunks were arranged dorm-style for the HQ field & rear troops. Some of the cooks were forced to share the 3rd floor with the officers (double-roomed), which was awkward cuz they worked at unearthy hours & were also completely bo-chap with their attire (allowed to wear non-regulation white tees & rubber galoshes). Given the lack of accomodation, there were literally not enough rooms for the clerks. -
