Yupp.... lots of commandos in my unit, also SOF, also Guards ( both reservist and regulars) and a multitude of lesser trained infantry-types like me and friends .... but with related skills.
Good to know you...... you are probably very young compared to me because I would like to think that I was in one of the pioneer batches of this unit. We started at Tengah AB, then went to more comfortable barracks at Dieppe ( air -con bunk and every luxury). Gana was actually one of the permanent training cadre who assumed the role of RSM also because for some strange reason there were many LTAs and SGTs , but not too many senior officers and senior NCOs.
I remember our first ICT, within the first hour of reporting, there was a muster parade conducted by him. All ranks participated including officers ! He looked mean but actually he is quite likeable in his own unique way ! -

One of the very few Commandos I know who wears the color of the beret according to the unit.

Yeah, that's the way I heard it too. Col Lim really rocks sia...try playing water polo with him..if he mark u, i guess u need a life vest as well..and he's a superbly nice guy and i envy you all who is lead by him..One of the few commandos i respect like Col Sukh, Col Chiang and LTC(i think COL already) Peh Ah Lee..

Yeah, Col Lim's a top bloke. We get the company together every year and he makes the time to catch up with us. All these badges just reminds me of my old CO during NS - he's got so many that he just sews on different ones on different uniforms. Sometimes I see him with just a name tag on, and on other occasions, unusual badges like the German airborne wings etc.

I didn't see much of him - I believe he was in formation HQ by the time I got to the battalion. I think Ninja knows him reasonably well, though.
