what DIs? training will carry on but to that particular individual, will attention be paid more on him? no OO and not even a counsellor attached to the unit? tt's seriously unfair to mono guys. and i dun understand the line in redOriginally posted by blitzonic:Honestly, there's some good advice provided in this thread, so don't challenge them as yet (whether to boost your self-esteem or whatever). As stated, you'll definitely have two outlets early in BMT to highlight your predicament to (the PC interview; the MO when you report sick).
Just don't expect quick resolutions. Your PC may have a quiet word with your DIs but training will otherwise carry on as usual, & peer pressure can be tough if you whine to much or don't carry your weight. You may not necessarily get to OOC before BMT finishes either, even if the MO sends your docket up the COC for further review/boarding. In other words, DON'T rely on your condition as a security blanket. This is a new stage of your life, & it's time to grow up accordingly.
If the unit doesn't have an OO, there's always the SAF Counselling Hotline. Just keep in mind that neither source has any real executive powers; they can only provide a listening ear.
juz hope tt i dun get tongue tied during the interview. And you thought you can be an infantry scout? ~lol~ I'll be surprised if they keep you as a rifleman at all, based on your input here. Rather, I'll recommend sending you on either to become CQ storeman (simple straightforward duties, & directly supervised by a CQMS) or, at most, to the mortar platoon to carry the base plate (if you're super-fit).

You better watch out before Ged comes chasing after you with a parangOriginally posted by Fatum:I'll leave the psycho-analysis to you, I'm not a shrink, nor do I believe in them .... huh. can u help me wif queries above?Originally posted by blitzonic:double post
why would someone whu haf difficulties mentally whine? its not as though they want it to happen unlike those physical injuries. There you go. Your tone -- see? Self-explanatory.
even if there r no OO in units, there shld be counsellors attached right? Why? It's not school days anymore, dude. ~shrug~ Cry to your momma on the phone, if it helps. Then MOVE ON. Meanwhile, the SAF system shall run its course, on its own sweet time (if your case gets referred on).
u dun seem to be providing gd advice. i think u r making fun of me. Ur advice is totally opposite frm the one of the BMTC PC here. u r being sarcastic, making fun of pple whu haf personal problems and not offering gd advice.Originally posted by blitzonic:Why? Yes,I have a feeling that TS is just trying to keng only...Originally posted by Terribear:Seriously, I think TS's problem can be cured by some good old-fashioned tekan session lasting at least 6 hours.
TS say he thinks too much, but I think NS will be so tiring and training-filled that he won't have much time to think, much less sleep.
After a few weeks of training and fitting in with the crowd, GED, ABD, CBD also gone liao la..
u are veri wrong. there is a difference between think too much and be in constant worry. and what ged abd cbd? dun anyhow say if u dunno. if what u said is true then what r saf psychologists and counsellors for? u r like saying a sucidal person after a few weeks of training and fitting in wif the crowd and his sucidal thoughts gone.Originally posted by Terribear:Seriously, I think TS's problem can be cured by some good old-fashioned tekan session lasting at least 6 hours.

Doubting and doubting...
I didn't say your condition is true...
If you don't want to find a solution and solve it...
No one will be able to help...
And... LOL man...
Don't keep thinking you are the only one who is suffering and no one understand you...
This is just plain stupid.
alright i will keep u pple updated of my progress but i hope no one here will make fun of my replies and be sarcasticOriginally posted by Terribear:I think got no cure for you liao.
And Enlistment is one thing that cannot be avoided.
Keep us updated of your progress ok?

well seems like my onli choice now was to wait for 1st interview and sound out my problem.Originally posted by WP_:My only advice to you is talk to your PC when you enlist. There'll be a 1st interview with you and usually they'll talk nicely to you since you're a newly enlisted soldier.
But just don't carry this attitude with you when you talk to the PC. If the forumers here are irritated by your attitude, i'm guaranteed that the PC will also be irritated.
Bring all your medical documents on the 1st day and show them to the the PC and request to see the MO. Since you're a recruit, they won't treat you too badly and special care will be given to you.
But keep in mind one thing, in the army, you can never find reassurance or whatsoever. Army is usually wait and see type of approach. So have some courage and do your best. BMT is usually the most relaxed and fun period in whole of your 2 years in NS. If you really got problem, just sound out your problem, don't keep it inside. If not just ask your parents to talk to your OC and see what can be done.
see tt's what i meant. being sacarstic and making fun of someone whu haf personal difficultiesOriginally posted by Terribear:Best thing is to sit down and refuse to participate in NS activities. When questioned, reply that you scared you will go crazy and harm your camp-mates.
they will then cannot ignore you liao. confirm will send you see MO.
Or maybe on enlistment day, start crying, don't stop crying even if they try to console you, it will show that you got a really big problem which they cannot ignore.
Or in PC interview, ask him question in a serious manner, questions like, how long does it take a person to die if a grenade explode at his feet? How long will it take to die if my wrists get cut? Will I die if I fall off tonner when its moving? How many rounds do I get at shooting range? etc etc
