I only know fire-fighting got cert.
So I guess live-saving course should have.
Me already got fire-fighting and helicopter fire-fighting.

Yes. Navy NSF.
I was sent for helo fire-fighting because I'm from a frigate which is due to receive helicopters.
Basically as a seaman, besides knowing FFDC (fire-fighting damage control), now I have to learn to fight helo-fire in the event of a crash-landing.
Helo-fire is a class B fire which means water is practically useless in fighting it. For that reason, we have foam gun in the hangar, and the heli-deck and hangar door is fitted with AFFF (Aqueous Film-Forming Foam) which is far superior in combatting such fire.
The course basically gave us procedures how to approach a downed helo, what to do in the event of a crash to prevent a fire. And best (or worst) of all, we had to don fearnought suit (aluminised suit) to combat aviation fuel fire which was easily the worst fire I had been thrown, and rescue casualties (if any) from the helo. -

And that means NSF + Gunner = All the shit.
And that means you also always kena arrow to do all the seaman things also hor? -

Paiseh i donno ur APPT.. by the way.. FYI not only GUN Vocs are open to NSF for Frigates.. Comms as well MY junior batch got a few of them lucky ones
Well.... I kenna everything la... I do ENS job, RNS job, OEW E job.. Pao Ka Liao..
But end of day, my focus is on my main job.. Maintain the SAM and do the regular checks on my GFCS system in the CIC..
I`ve been onboard Formidable.. all i cn say is its really Formidable! The CIC.. WAH LIKE MOVIE THEATER! and ur Galley.. WOOHOO!! Somemore chief cook is Wisely.. good lah he!
BEST PART is when ur're doing sunset or colors.. whoever doin the prep.. cn sit on the stairs or hide 1 corner and fly the prep.. without wearing No.3.. basket when my ship was docked at Frigate Wharf.. i look down at the fella doing Prep.. basket in coverall.. hahahah ok la don say him.. i myself also.. WAHAHAH! although im in full view of the squadron..heck la.. weekend duty!

Hey this course used to be siong in SAFTI but also 2 weeks of fun.I remember one funny question 'if your wife and mother in law are both drowning at sea who would you save?' 'I would save both' was my answer and it was the correct answer but looking back at my first marriage my answer should have been 'I would let both drown'>
