Can I request for overseas vocation?

  Currently im a RP. But just wanna find out if its possible to do a request for overseas vocation. I heard the allowance is attractive! Can anyone hear speak from experience?

  I am not sure whether RPs are needed in overseas camp and how many formations actually have people who are stationed overseas. Maintainance is 1 of those i know that has and the extra monthly allowance for us was about 1.4k for taiwan, 1.1k for brunei, 900 for thailand. Not sure of the exact amount and the current amount since that was the rough allowance back when i was given the talk for overseas posting.

  Yeah, what you meant is overseas posting, i.e. perm staff. I think only service personnel have a chance, though. The pay is very good &, in places like Taiwan & Thailand, you can go jalan outside after last parade. But Brunei has absolutely no nightlife if you're based in Lakuin.

  yes RPs do stand a chance. during the RP course the instructors will ask who are interested in oveseas posting.
  
  i know 2 RPs who are posted overseas. one of them told me horror stories like how once he went there, he find it very hard to come back on leave due to availability of flight etc. somemore he say must pass IPPT if not cannot come back singapore on leave.

  What do the RPs do overseas? Can't see the military camps there turning their perimeter security over to foreigners. The ones I experienced in ROC & Crescendo were manned by native troops. (Some of them quite slack too, I must say, though being geographically sited in ulu places must've helped.)

  I dunno, saw MPs (but not RPs) manning the camp compound in Australia.
