Ops manning got 1 month long 1 meh? Its normally just 1 week from tues to tues generally.
Very suay to kanna 1 lah. My last week in unit on standby and kanna activated. Make me waste 4 hrs go seat at camp do nothing then go home. -

U wat unit 1 why manning so long 1? 1 month long manning more for higher level units. My last one was that long before they posted me to another Reservist unit.

Ok....one reminder in case this thread goes outta hand..
Ops Manning is a rotation of duty for different units to be on standby for emergencies or real operations.
ie. At any time, there're a certain number of units on manning and readied for recall at X hour of time.
REMINDER: Please do not reveal your unit name/date/time in public, that is classified information. You're not to publicise that your unit XXXX is on manning from when to when.
Basically Ops Manning means, u're ready to be recalled....sometimes its just recall to test readiness and ensure that units are ready to move out, rarely u'll also be mobilised and move out for a 1-2 day exercise (super rarely happen)......or worst case, u can be activated in a real emergency (happen before, like Tekong robbers case, Ops Manning units move in)....or real war activation. -

to be honest...when they activate, it is always for ops reasons, to ensure reaction time. Money and budget is outta their equation.
Its not true that high-salaried pple dun get recalled either, my unit, just like any other has drivers and vehicle-commanders, even clerks who're SIA pilots, lawyers, top engineers....its really no big deal for MINDEF....my unit mates get recalled every ICT, every time.
The rumour of SAF not recalling such pple is because some of these pple defer for overseas work, etc. and pple get the idea that such pple are excused....totally not true.
So what makes u think because they spend a few million, they can't recall more?
MINDEF budget much more than u think lar...its never a problem. -

If activated during weekdays office hours, do we stop what we are doing at work and report to camp in FBO? Is that so? -
