removing liquid kiwi from boots

i just used a candle to burn the front part of my parade boots to try and remove the liquid kiwi. but i donno how to tell if all the wax has been removed. can teach? cause my unit needs us to have boots shiny enough to reflect our pt kit color...

i heard cannot shine cause boots will be damaged or what. so i go burn. burnt liao my boots more dmged -
rub the solid kiwi till blur, then try burning loh.
heng my boots no need to be so shiny. -

buy a new pair. -
u can try applying normal kiwi .. add a bit of water n use a cloth instead of brush

want shiny
apply layer of kiwi on boot using brush
take orange cloth...dabbed with abit of water,....then rub in small circular fashion...
then u buff the boot using the cloth in quick left to right successions
last time i use very old undies to do the circular rubbing of the applied kiwi before buffing with the orange cloth,...
dunno y..but damn shiny -
For me, I apply a layer of solid kiwi, then when dry already, I use another brush and scrub like mad, when its done, the results are actually not bad.
The shine is different from the water + cloth method, how to say??? Like more natural. -

Alamak, how can burn to remove, deh? Next time, use a stiff brush or toothbrush.
When using fire, you're (already) trying to melt the wax polish. Overdo it & you're singe the leather itself. I dunno how thick your initial coating is -- although, as long as there's no permanent damage, the leather is resilient enough to tahan continuous polishing. In fact, regular coating & buffing will maintain the leather, in keeping it supple & preventing any drying-up (& cracking).
