Does anybody know exactly what happened?
I've read conflicting "reports" about the situation in another forum and would be quite interesting to see what exactly transpired. I don't know the man but it might have been something quite serious for him to ignore the chain of command plus insubordination to harrass a superior officer like that. -
The guy in the top picture (Joshua Ang) is doing his NS, according to his wiki profile. He's the one who is quite hiao, if I remember correctly from the magazine write-ups during their later teenage years. The other one (Shawn Lee) is more grounded.
Then again, who am I to say? -

Sure, it's his right to call in a lawyer, but damnit, it's also his responsibility to act like a man and to answer for his own actions. Running to mommy and daddy for a lawyer to contest 7 days of DB sure doesn't reflect very well upon himself.
We all didn't see the incident.... but certainly things like chasing and harassing a woman in the office and resisting the attempts of an Encik to restrain him ain't small potatoes either.
Like it or not, when we're in NS we all get a whole bucketload of crap from the superiors, get bitten on the ankles by our subordinates, and a few (figurative) 5.56mm rounds through the middle. If his actions are to be excused due to some supposed bad experiences while in the army, I suppose all of us can act like hooligans then. -

I for one find that he's been quite leniently punished for something that would have gotten the fellows in my ex-unit double the time.
Note that he was previously fined, and not drummed into Mowbray. Whatever it was, if a third party had to come in and be rebuffed like that, he could have been pretty violent. -

In February last year, while he was being investigated by the SAF legal process, Ng chased and argued aggressively with a 50-year-old woman Warrant Officer in his unit's Operations Room.
Chased ? .... WTF ? .... he really think it's his father's army ah ....
again ... I'm blaming the parents for not teaching him the limits of society earlier in now .... -

I know for a fact detainees call everyone Sir in there. Even if you're a DB MP but holding the rank of PTE.
