Life as a 3 Sgt in unit?

Hi.I'm curious about life as a 3 sgt in units eg. arty or armour. am currently in sispec, so trying to find out. =)

after last parade at 5 or 6
go nites off liao...come back before 12 sometimes come back at 4am if we know who doing guard that nite
in camp...just follow schedule arh

go exercise in LCK then go lor
come back..clean weapon then slack
play ps2(that time was ps2 arh)
do watever we want
of course got responsibility to take care of men arh
most of the men are pretty okay anywaes....not as bad as some ppl seem
my best fren now is one of my men during ns
u take care of them
they will take care of u one in camp or outside camp
tekong...wat kind of freedom u got
just shouting at dumbf u c ks every day oni
will get boring one -
wat i say is depend on unit arh
that was wat i experienced in mine
sure sometimes everyone shoot arrow to u
but ure job to do wat
anywaes
i always reminded my men last time that i wish i was a private instead and they should appreciate not having to make hard decisions everytime and having to always babysit 6 others for 2 years
its really fun being in unit arh..
u wont regret arh
of course we got standbys and alerts arh
just be optimistic
and always prepare ure week ahead
no such thing as dunno for commanders
and never treat ureself higher than ure men
cos they are the ones that make u look good....1 suffer all suffer..no matter wat rank
officers..who gives a fuck
but usually they are nice ppl arh
down to earth
human beings -
well fer my unit we hate almost all out 3sgt all damm green still wanna act old birdzzzzzz

airforce spec quite okay...once u lao jiao, they treat u macham like regular...

3rd sergeant life in unit is good. dun worry abt tough training, coz u will meet with challenges on how to manage a section of men,especially those going ord ones will try to be funni with u.

You're just high enough to be considered a commander, so anything the commanders kanna, you also get. And since your rank is just above the men, anything the men kanna, you will also kanna.
While there are perks, it can also be quite shit at times. -

Had two mates who really felt damned shiok when we were back in Tekong for recourse.
One of them told me, "So this is what our rank is supposed to feel like?"..
I told him, "You want to stay in Tekong, by all means man".

haha, tekong is the only place you can lift your head high with a 3SG rank. In unit who gives a damn to it. Some of my mates used to say posted to tekong will be good life cos can anytime see REC never greet just pump them if not i guess most of us in our entire 3SG life never once even drop anyone or do anything a 3SG can do to anyone.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Not just us.

i see 3sgts as a "brother" to his men
someone who to 'look after' especially safety...
Men look for "brothers" who can chiong with them, do things together
they hate the BMT instructors' mentality
well, i address my men as my platoonmates, teammates...
ultimately, we are going to spend at least 10 years together -

wait till tekong specs meet unit specs when we come over for training...lol...all cower...

I actually told two of them off, when they tried to abuse their rank. Lifting your head high is not about your rank, it's about how well you work with your guys and if you treat them well, they will work well with you. That's what matters.
Rank? The rank is there for you to protect your men, for you to accept responsibility.
