  Unless you're a 3rd SG and above then will you get such a Testimonial else you'll just get the standard cert stating you have completed your 2 years of national liability.

  It depend on the unit. I am only an enlistee rank but I managed to get a testimonial from my superior n mayb u can talk to ur Chief clerk about it.

  It will be a 1 page essay type. Just ask ur superior see whether they are willing to write 1 and get it signed by your OC or CO. I got mine, written by my PC and signed by my OC since the CO was not around at that time but i'm not that particular as long as i got it.

  What are the uses of ORD testimonial?
  
  I doubt potential employers look at it as reference.

  Yes, if you are working abroad where military experience is counted as work experience as well.

  A testimonial more won't hurt and some employers might look at it to see your work attitude. It won't hurt to have more positive things about yourself to sell yourself to your employer.

  if you think is important then is wrong lo.... i dont think many people look out for it... unless you are military related.. or physical work related..
  
  normally we just see highest cert and test your product knowledge on whatever job you are interviewing
  
  of cuz as a sg ppl, kiasu is a must.

  it comes with ur cert ..... the service transcript thingy is = ur testimonial

  actaully, got use one. i ever went to one job interview and the interviewer asked me why i only got GOOD conduct for my NS.

  Testimonial or not depends on your superior. I believed i deserved "excellent" for my conduct and performance in NS. Talked to my PC about it and he agreed. Problem is for that to happen, they have to award you a testimonial as well and that is a hassle to our fellow NS colleagues if you get what i mean. I went on leave and upon ORD i got the certificate of service with conduct and performance "very good" only and of course without the testimonial .

   

  Edit: Just wanted to add that my pc made me type my own testimonial but it was never submitted.
