Just received a voice message from MINDEF regarding my unit's Ops Manning Period, which is coming in about a month.
So... what am I expected to do during this period?
Can anyone advice?
My Ops Manning Period is in September, and its one week after I ORD
that really sucks..
but what r u supposed to do during this period?
simple..just get ur fieldpack n stuff ready...packed up and ready to go...then just wait for the call up if any...then just grab ur stuff and report to camp in FBO. u can usually check wats needed in ur fieldpack by logging on to ns portal and go to 'my unit', there will be items to pack and also instructions such as wat camp to report to...
haha anw, haf fun for mob manning... i was activated yesterday and had to rush back to camp..talking about busy reservists... haha but yup go back n see some friends... go there and sign stuff.. inprocess then depends on what the unit is going to do n such..
haf fun for mob manning...:)
See the link for more info but basically like what aknoo123 said, get your FBO ready.

hi thanks for the replies.
but unlike you guys, im still a NSF.
any difference between an NSF's Ops Manning and a reservist's Ops Manning?
During my NSF,I too have mob manning periods.
For NSFs,it is roughly the same too.You see your unit code word on TV or get phone call, you report back to your same camp.
Don't forget to acknowledge the phone message after you have listened to the message. Some people just switch off after listening to the starting.Of course,as NSF you will not be allowed to take overseas leave during mob manning period
You have to bring your FBO too plus 11B,no different from NSmen.Depending on your vocation, you might end up having to do extra things like setting aside combat rations for distribution or set up ammo point if you are in the QM dept.
Even more convenient if you are NSF since you will be in camp for most of the week but they usually call up on the weekends.
If you ORDed less than 6 mths within the Ops manning period, you no need to report for the manning if activated.
