Read carefully. SGD11k is expenditure not covered in the IAPT programme fees. That means to say, the IAPT programme is of a different expense. May cost up to SGD100k or more.
SGD11k not even enough to train you for a PPL in Singapore.
This IAPT programme is rather similar to those offered in Australia flying schools as it is CASA governed.
Sorry to dig up this old thread... I came across the rsaf website and checked out the scholarships page: http://www.mindef.gov.sg/imindef/mindef_websites/atozlistings/air_force/careers/scholarships_and_sponsorships/officers.html
Under the LSA (pilot) scheme, it said that u can go study abroad, which differs from the normal LSA. Does anyone know which universities these include? Cos i dun think that they will sponsor for ALL universities.
And would this also account for the overseas universities that are in tie-ups with SIM? For eg. University of Manchester, University of London, RMIT etc.
If let's say that my 'A' Level results are quite shit (touch wood), and then cannot get into local uni, and gotta go SIM, would rsaf recognise this degree? As in would u be getting the same pay grade and rank as say, a NTU graduate?
Thanks for any help!
Hi. I will recommend you to call or refer your doubts via email to them directly.
As you will have noticed by now, this place isn't a wonderful place to clear your queries regarding signing on issues.
Cheers.

yup, most r Reservist NSmen.
a level and diploma holders fall into one salary range
graduates fall into the next one... doesn't matter as long as u have a piece of paper and the uni is recognised by rsaf u'll be earning graduate pay.
as for graduates with good honours, i heard there's a change in how much they are paid, of course they draw slighly more than the normal graduates.
to qualify for LSA(local) , firstly you need to qualify for a recognised local uni. then if you decide to study overseas under the same scheme, you can apply for the overseas uni and you top up the difference in education costs yourself as rsaf only pays for local costs.
but if you managed to get the overseas sponsorship then they will pay all the approved tuition costs.
call the recruitment centre for the latest updates lah. there might have been several policy changes in recent months.
