what some people here dont understand is the effectiveness of the new uniform. They only know how to say the new uniform is ugly!
Frankly speaking, i dont think the old no.4 is effective.. the colours are too dark. Plus they are so hot to wear.
You got to give digital patterns some respect, but i doubt singaporeans will. We are always behind in the advancement of military related stuff
So u rather get spotted and killed in your old no.4? Or be laughed at because you look like a watermelon. Which is more important? Your life or how your uniform looks

One qns, since this uniform is so good, will we have not more people get excuse uniform for some tiny skin problem?

i must admit i laugh when i see recruits fresh out of tekong wearing the uniform, but then again, there are lots of merits to it. all those former scorpions must know how cooling they are as compared to the older ones when we wore them during evaluation. with regards to its enhanced camouflage capabilities, you have to check with OPFOR, though i would imagine it should be alot better.
Also, its alot smaller than the old one. maybe they issued me the wrong size, but by Day 1 of our evaluation, i split my pants right down the middle, and it stayed that way till day 4. that has definitely got something to do with its durability.
Furthermore, has anyone thought about how difficult it'd be to access the pockets once we put on the ILBV (the 'new' bullet proof vest). I must think that they'd decide to relocate our FAD and what not. very sad. i used to put sweets in my left breast pocket. i was hoping that Log side would include those useful pockets on the sleeve for this purpose, but sadly, this has not happened.
