oh. they just called me yesterday to schedule an interview but i have exams on that day. so i have to wait for another month! haha! i think they have to handle many calls a day so another call wont bother them much la. weird logic i know. (:
Made a courtesy call this afternoon, system was down so they could not provide any details. Nice chap though, his name is Jerome, reckon the NSF at helm over prospective pilots. When did they schedule your interview initially?
Exams, A'levels? Well wishes to you mate, perhaps we may be batch trainees together with dragon & blood.
Nicolas.

Hey guys..
Just wanna ask isit a A level cert holder stands a greater chance than the Diploma holder??And which course should I study if I'm in the poly??
Btw I've already have a disadvantage,I don't take Physic science in sec sch as my combi is Bio..So will it affect alot??
And is the chances of passing all the test very slim??And how long will it takes for a person to become a fighter pilot??
Well I'm just curious guys..Anyway I'm just 15,so well maybe you guys will think that I'm just asking some stupid questions..
But I'm very interested on being a RSAF pliot..So hope you guys can give some comments on what should I start to do or learn before I go for these test when I'm 18..
With much thanks =)

2 years to get your pilot 'wings' and your LTA rank. After that you still have to go for ops conversion in the squadrons.
As for the passing percentage, let's put it this way, out of those people who pass the COMPASS test + interview + medical and go into OCS, it's rumoured that 90% of them get chopped along the way over the 2 years.
Besides, pilots do not only fly fighters. There are transport and helicopters as well.
As for A levels vs diploma, diploma will command a higher pay than A levels but the difference is not that great compared to diploma vs degree.
No questions are too stupid, though.
HI does anyone know - what are the chances of getting fighters rather than transport or chopper?
And also - what's the chop rate like once you get in? And does anyone know the IPPT standards for women and how many points required to get silver?
one of my friend who is at police, said his colleague who was a NSF clerk at the Police academy managed to get selected for pilot. He pass all the three requirements. Now he is a pilot trainee already.
My question is he didnt qualify for OCS yet can be selected for pilot? Im asking this question because i didnt qualify for OCS during my bmt, now im a specialist at artillery unit. I passed the WSO(FTR) test already. AFRC didnt call me up for medical and interview.
i'm interested in signing on as an Air Engineering Officer. However i'm already in unit as a spec. I have an interest in aeroplanes and but was hesistant in signing on due to peer pressure during BMT. I did averagely well for my A level (not all As though. mixture of As and Bs). Is it difficult for me to get the LSA in this case? Heard RSAF vocations quite competitive. Is it still possible for me to sign on? Is this vocation good? Can someone please enlighten me. thanx
By the way guys,
Im going to be posted to Air Force School after BMT, was wondering what do we have to bring during the first day when we report? And will they issue anything like BMT?
Dear Forumers,
I am taking a great intrest in aviation and would like to fly for RSAF. I am 21 years old; Netherland national; Degree Holder; and second gen PR Holder. I would like to know which path i should take during my National Service which i have yet to serve. Is there any flight schools in Singapore?. i currently finished my degree studies and would like to go to aviation school instead of doing my Masters study. i would appreciate it if you guys enlighten me on this.
Thanks.

Thanks Rednano, but i was looking for "Flight" academy. the ones that allow me to study and fly private aircrafts. i have found schools in Malaysia and Indonesia, but i prefer to do so in Singapore. seems like the Singapore Aviation Academy does not offer these services and so does the CAAS. im planning to do my flight sudies before applying to join RSAF. thanks anyways, i appreciate your help.=)

it's best if u submit your application online on www.rsaf.gov.sg for their consideration 1st, even b4 u enlist.
