Oh geez thanks! Tat's no.4? Oh..

Food for thought:
male strippers are usually asked to dress up as firemen or policemen. I don't recall even one instance of a stripper being asked to dress up as a soldier
Please google yourself if you dun believe me. Google army + uniform + fetish, these 3 words. And you will see for yourself.
I hate the policeman and fireman uniforms. Especially police one.. super unsexy and CMI.
Army fatigues are commonly used in gay/straight porn. And no.1 and no.5 are commonly features in movies and TV shows as dashing symbols.

ahhhh.............it all makes sense now .........
try writing to mindef public affairs, the chief of defence force, and perhaps the minister of defence as well, citing the above examples and remember to provide your hubby's name and unit.

Like what?!??!

no no! don't listen to her!
like I said, write to the higher authorities and provide all the info you just mentioned. and remember to include your hubby's name and unit!

I think you lead a very sheltered life
Like for example
Is the USD going up?
Will Soybeans on the CBOT free fall further or go up . Should I buy the position??
How are my stocks and bonds doing?
Worry about your children, yr hair yr nails
How do I know what is important for you which it seems to me nothing means a thing except for the old No. 4

Of cos I won't say that to those people!!!!!!!.. I was just responding to you when you said that firemen and policemen's uniforms are supposedly sex symbols and more women like them. I can tell you it's not true. Police is possibly the worst.
Do you HONESTLY think these people and their partners think the new uniform is nice? Look its almost unanimous agreement in every forum that the new uniform is fugly. I bet they can see that?? Its ok. I know a lot of other wives feel the same as i do.. but no one voices it because of the kind of reaction they fear they'll get, like how you all have reacted..
Put it this way
I don't care if it is ugly or looks like shit
Ultimately if it camouflages the soldiers better in times of war, I'm all for it.
Like I said before. this is for the army and it's meant for camouflage in the jungle or forested areas. It's not meant to be a fashion parade

Stocks, bonds and commodity investment I leave to my hubby. My kids are very obedient and are not in primary school yet. They're doing well, happy..my hair and nails are great.. my hair is rebonded so it's fuss-free..as for my nails, they're healthy. I do have manicures every few weeks but have lost interest in the last few years in manicures after I got married.
The no. 4 (now) is PERFECT. My hubby wears it everyday. It is important.
How do you know the new fugly one camoflouges better?
Originally posted by ArmyWife:NO. Its not so comical and NO it's not a joke.
Ok are you a guy? Say you really have a thing for girls with tattoos....do you get an orgasm in public when you see a slim and pretty colleague with a gorgeous tattoo? is it so exaggerated? Like in a stephen chow comedy?? Obviously not right?
You just really have a thing for it. And you love it when you see her wearing something that exposes it. And you feel your knees go weak. Gettit? It's like that.
haha k la.. i get it.. you have a "thing" for no.4 uniform on your husband right? keep a few sets at home and you can always get him to wear it when u feel like it lor..

Apparently you have not been reading the papers on the reasons why they want to change the No. 4
Just for yr quick reference

Let me tell you this, your views represent nothing unless you'r part of the Lee clan. No one at the top will change their decision because you can't get your kicks out of your husband's new uniform.
There are a million and one other issues to address and well; the debate over whether the new SAf no. 4 is "fashionable" enough ain't one of them.
I seriously need to question your husband's motive as to why he's still married to you in the first place if all you ever loved about him was his uniform.

nooo i love many things abt him.. he is simply perfect.. but I really love the uniform.
I am sure the enemies will die laughing when they see the fugly uniform our soldiers wear. Is this operationally sound?
It's not abt fashionable. Fashionable means it's fleeting and current. The no.4 is an old classic, it's not fashionable.
I found this.

As COL Chua espoused, when it comes to uniforms today, comfort must commensurate with sense of identity.
"[It]
is important that when we wear it [the uniform], not only should we
feel a sense of belonging but we should feel proud wearing it, and of
course we should feel good wearing it ... there is a new meaning to all
these things. [These] enhance our identity, and we can feel proud of
that. So why not?"
Interestingly, COL Chua is currently
involved with recent developments in the Army's Number 4 uniform. In
the near future, the camouflage print on the Number 4 uniform will be
replaced by pixelised design.
"From a very simple Temasek
Green to the Camouflage Number 4 and now, when we are actually
developing 'digitised' uniforms. It is the future of the battlefield.
This is science as well as art. Science for obvious reasons... we spent
dollars to produce that design of pixels. And it is an art in the sense
that whenever we put on the uniform, it must look good, it must feel
good. At the end of the day we must feel proud when you're wearing it."
you're kicking up a big fuss all because of a change in the army uniform
you want sexy?
ask him wear some banana leaves and fight a war. tts definately sexy and a powerful camoflauge

But you're not the one wearing it. What does your husband have to say about it? I'm sure if he's self-respecting and well-learned officer he'd understand for the changes about to be made to the uniform.
I seriously doubt he objects as much as you do.
Personally i may hate the look of the uniform but at the end of the day i still gotta use it for reservist. Whether or not it looks good on me or anyone else; i'll probably be too tired to debate on it after 4 days 3 nights in the jungle.

Yeah he didn't say much. He agreed that it's fugly and told me all his colleagues said the same. but I told him about how upset i was and that i've been praying about it. He did not say much except told me to accept this.
I can't believe now the rank is on the chest.. super fugly.. gosh..

The rank of chest thing was probably because many people complained how Officers during wartime can take off their epaulettes and pretend to be a Private, thus shrinking any responsibilities.
Buahahhahahaha
oh crap.
I can't believe i actually read all 4 pages of this thread. On a Tuesday afternoon.
I need a new job.

Who changed the title of my thread?!?!??!? Grrr!
I have not heard of such officers before. I mean, if they want to do that, it's just career suicide. If such people if they exist in the 1st place love to get stuck and retire as a CPT or MAJ, haha by all means.
I mean anyone can do anything they like to knock their own socks off, even in the private sector, if you want to sleep in your office when your boss is talking to you and even drool on him, also can. It's just a matter of what you want to achieve in your time anywhere.

i agree totally.
TS, as much as you don't like the new uniform, there's NOTHING you or us can do to change it. All you are doing now is getting ppl to flame and laugh at you. You can still keep the old uniforms right, Why worry? :)
i think i have a rough idea what the new uniform looks like, it will take some time to get used to it. I just dislike the prospect of having to sew all the tags over again, waste money, cos i NSman seldom wear....
the bottomline is we have no choice but to accept.
relax, TS :-)

so now these soldiers without ranks on their bdu will get targetted first. in times of war.
makes it no different from the epaulettes.
