2 more weeks and it's POP and my aim is to go OCS. However, i think i did only averagely in sit-test and i did not really get to show my leadership skills for the past weeks. Commanders dont really have much impression about me though i did ok in peer apprasial.
I have only good Ippt and Soc results to show for and i'm wondering what are the chances that i will get selected to OCS?
Basically, the stats go something like....
Sit-test = average
Commanders = bad
Soc = good
Ippt = good
extras = none
discipline = average
peer appraisal = above average
Hope i can get some insights so as to prepare myself on my next journey in Army.
Many thanks.
mostly likely sispec n PTI..... OCS needs leadership demonstration...
If you get Best PT in your company I would say there is a very high chance of going to OCS. Good luck!
i knew a person who was best in PT but didnt get in OCS hor.

except the Ippt and Soc which are confirmed, others are based on logical assumptions which i'm 80% sure.
Hmm other than my first Pc interview during the first week of BMT which concerns whether we can adjust to NS life, my coy didn't had another chance to have another interview with Pc.
ur bmt ending? if there's still hope.
if ending, tell your Sec Com or PS or whoever lah.. show them passion loh.. but not 100% will get lah.. because all these is recommented by ur PC to OC then higher and higher.. so.. meaning if ur PC dont think good of you.. your chance will be low.. just be yourself.. you will shine no matter where you are.. lol
just 2 more weeks to POP, think assessment all done n submitted already.... just try your best....
Well I think if you did your best, no need to be disappointed if you did not to OCS.
even if go sispec still hv chance to go OCS...

lead cheers during route marches?
"com'on brothers, 2 clicks more! choing lar..."
how good is ur ippt and soc timing.
anyway how u noe ur peer appraisal results one..
most prob sispec i guess.
In fact, for Sit Test even if you screw it up (eg not meeting the time), does not mean your chances to OCS is zero.
Trust me.
"leadership demonstration" ... LOL , what a nice way to put it
depend on security clearence also. and well said renze, just be yourself.
How good is good? Relative to the rest of your cohort, or is it based on your own perspective? My IPPT was gold (best timing was 9:08), cleared the last SOC sub 5 minutes, represented the coy in some of the games day stuff, no extras, lead shitload of songs in every march. Of course me being an O lvl grad went to SISPEC and the RJ straight A guy who barely got silver went to OCS. I think CPC like to play darts.
Agree with Jem777. Your academic ability has a lot to do with your posting. That's why a lot of RJ and other top JC guys got posted to OCS regardless of their leadership qualities, fitness or interest.
During my BMT time, a good platoon-mate who was from VJ, had good A level results, did not want to go to OCS, told PC he's not interested in going to OCS, had average fitness, was still posted to OCS. In fact, he was shocked when the PS announced his posting. Of course, he managed to get himself OOC in the end. Didn't believed in the crap that SAF was and is. My co best trainee and best PT also didn't make it to OCS. The former went to signals, and the latter Sispec.
Your OCS or sispec probability is close to 90% =)
SAF's heavy reliance on academic results (A-stars are everything to them) is dangerous and highly disturbing.
when real war comes......
hi guys, i'm back. POPED 2 days ago and i managed to get coy best pt award. I did have a PC interview and i asked him my chances to go OCS. His answer was I probably would go OCS which i think is crap as it's just a tactic to make people happy.
I'm now thinking of signing on as an Infantry Officer before my posting is out. Do you think it's too late? As i heard the chances of going to OCS is high when you sign on.

My 2.4 was under 8.40 and SOC was sub 4 mins.
Hmm guess my chances to OCS are slim now. I screwed up my dip cert and i heard from someone that they would only consider you if your gpa is higher than 2.5

i think that would be sole sispec probability. But i dont really like sispec from what i know about it. Seeing my PS saluting my PC during BMT really makes me want to laugh at the saf system.
