Can specialists wear or only officers? Can specialists just wear without the sword ceremony?
why would you want to do a damned fool thing like that?
i'm asking because a spec is asking me. thanks.
nope..unless both bride and groom are uniformed SAF personnel..only can the spec (bride or groom) can wear the no.1 for the wedding..to have a military wedding, its not just the no.1..there alot of "initiations" to go through...

You mean if got 2 specs in the weddings (bride and groom both specs) then can??
The spec in question is marrying a civilian. Then how? The spec says many specs who got the no.1 due to them being the guard of honour in parades have been wearing it for their wedding photoshoot and also on their wedding day the only thing is can't have sword ceremony.
Now this spec is very worried as he does not want toget into trouble.
If the 2 specs have their OWN no.1 from COC parades or other parades, then they can have their wedding in no.1 sans sword bearers in no.1..
So to answer your query, if the spec you mentioned has HIS/HER own no.1 (meaning no need to book out the no.1) from parades, he can use it for wedding photographs but have to go without the sword bearers entitled only for officers...

What if the spec in question doesn't already have a set of no.1 currently from being parade guard of honor.. can he go and draw or apply to tailor one for wedding purposes? thanks
I know of a regular and officer who is applying to tailor his also.
if the spec draws one, he will be rejected..
He can tailor his own with permission from the relevant branch

huh when i say tailor, i mean is SAF tailor make the no.1 for them and not they ownself to go to tailor outside.
the regular officer I know who is applying for his no.1 is getting his tailored by SAF.
So can a specialist can go outside and tailor his own no.1?? Or apply to SAF to tailor one? Why can't the specialist apply to draw or tailor the no.1 from SAF?
only officers are entitled..didnt i mention that earlier? Unless he has permission, then can the spec has the tailor make his own no.1 for his wedding only for the photoshoot.
And who's suppose to be the sword bearers for a spec's wedding? Only officers are allowed to carry swords you know? So far from what I know, only regular officers are entitled to have one tailored for their wedding.

Yes I know what you meant that only officers are entitled. i was just asking why. isn't it kinda prejudicial?
...... Hardly see any fun in a military wedding...

Only Officers CPT (or appt OC) and above are entitled to Military wedding in Uniform.
Entitlement means,
1) drawing of stores for ALL parties, number one for himself, and his sword arch team (groomsmen)
2) using of military premises (usually OCS) for wedding photographyplus other whatnots.
There is NO restriction for other SAF personnel to use No1 uniform for wedding provided they do not infringe any law or SAF GOM (i.e. wrong usage of rank, using unauthorised adornments (e.g. swords for specialists, using tabs/badge not entitled to that personnel)
However, the No 1 uniform is out of pocket and not drawing from store.
i see. which means a specialist can wear a no.1 all he likes for his wedding or photo shoot as long as he 1) got it tailored outside himself or 2) got his own set from SAF due to being guard of honor..
What about a specialist who borrows another specialist's no.1 (who may have gotten it from being the guard of honor) to wear for wedding or photoshoot? That is fine?? wah lau also not shiok wear someone else's no.1 .. not even tailored to your size..
how much to tailor one no 1
