Excuse Loud Noise

I think by "loud" it means like at firing range loud? Maybe even with ear plugs?

It's quite ambiguous so I'd like someone who has similar excuses to share his experience. Anyone out there?? :)

brother, when you enlisting? i got exactly the same condition as you. excused from the same things as you. also mild deafness in left ear. same pes. enlisting on jan 28.
i am quite amuse by the pes C1L2 status.
C1 = more combat fit than C2 and C9
L2 = Able to bear firearms
but "Explosives" = firearms wad. unless SAF got special unit which uses only swords, bow and arrows, or they provide silencers, i think almost all the weapons are considered "loud noise" "explosives"
i don't know the extent of "excuse explosives". confirm cannot go armoured, arti, frontline infantry. but as for rifle, i seriously dunoe.
i tried out the static stimulator before, noise level is still tolerable.
also tried out live firing with shotgun before. that it too loud for me. i don't think the ear plugs issued is going to help much. if really want to muff out sound, need to use ear muffs (used by those shotgun shooters).

i thought the best is to excuse uniform. once excuse uniform, u r indirectly excuse outfield, range, parade. Basically, those who got perm excuse uniform is most probably pes C2 and below which means they don have to go for IPPT. This excuse seems to me is the most wide ranges.

Ear plugs are standard issue item butyou dont have to wear them all the time>LOL

1)going to the firing range and live firing exercises
2)Attend Parades
3) getting verbally abused
4)X-tra,Excetra................Ecetera ( dont know how to spell this word)

yupz, but i guess it's a last resort thing. so you get to learn how to use it, and so if you eventually get caught in a war situation you can use it.
It makes sense, and is to your benefit. You get extra chance to survive if war really breaks out even though you're normally excused firing.

8.30am. sad. freaking early,cannot wakeup late. on 3rd day of CNY somemore.

haha looks like they separated us in case both of us sits around and do nothing. My cousin sed there was a guy who was partially deaf (C9) during his time and he just sat behind and help around with rounds and stuff

haha it's okay. I was just curious. Yer I'm going thru the 7 week BMT. Is there a huge difference b/w that and the full bmt?

I was referring to the 3mths BMT for those born with normal senses and limbs>LOL.In your case I think there was a thread where all the Pes C to Z discuss their army life here.Good Luck!

Agree with deathmaster that C1L2 is quite funny...
If excuse grenades/explosives/loud noise, why not excuse firearms? I remember during BMT that rifle range was as loud as grenade throwing, even with earplugs. Some more the rifle got to put next to your ear and shoot, whereas the grenade can throw far away then explode.
Anyone can enlighten us on the rationale behind this?
