This is what I am reading from a brochure from polyclinic. It stated 1)Have the right to considerate, respectful and impartial access to treatment regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, national origin, social status, physical or mental disability. 2)Will be treated with RESPECT as an individual, taking into account your emotional, social and cultural needs. 3)Are entitled to be treated with dignity in a humane environment.
This is 3 crucial patient's rights at NHG polyclinics.
And the story goes, today, went to polyclinic for consultation. Waited bloody 3 hours for a 10 minutes consultation and was treated like a shit. 1st question when you go in: "why are you always here and what is wrong with you?" read no.1 - 3 rights. Crap? Out of the 4 times i went there, 1st time = >39.5 degree fever, 2nd time = > check up for knee injury. Both during block leave after tekong and 0 MC TAKEN (NOTE). 3rd time fall from stairs, knee swollen INSIDE NS TRAINING (they give 2 days, i extend 2 days) still swollen, cannot walk nicely. 4th time, TODAY! woo! look at their service, i wonder what is happening. The doctor attended to me receive 2-5 patients complains verbally and 1 written complain letter. Nice eh? Less than 8 patients, he need 3 hours ar? LJ.
Post your similar experience and share it.
want to keng, ganna spoted mai complain lah.
foreign worker?
snk86, you got nothing nice to contribute, don't contribute. I post this just to benefit people and let them know the conducts of some of the doctors.
Sadly to disappoint you. Due to genuine condition, I was referred to A&E and got 2 days MC. Referred to specialist as well.
I dun blame the polyclinic doctors.
No matter how many patients they see, their pay is fixed. Not like private clinic, gets paid per patient. I put myself in their shoes, I also wanna ask the patient why you keep coming here?? give me more work.
If there is a problematic motorcycle, after some time the mechanic also avoid asking you to come...sick of seeing the same 'patient' all the time.
8 patients in 3 hours? Not all patient are like you, can describe precisely wat is the prob. Quality examination takes quality time. Not all go in, see doctor, take MC and go get medicine. Some ppl need urine test, blood test and etc. And dun forget, the doctor needs to write down the examination details after each patient leaves. This records leaves no room for mistakes.
Nv mind doctor's ethics. Bcoz you have to consider human behaviour. Not all doctors who took up this profession are aiming to treat polyclinic patients. Some are just waiting for their break to climb to a higher post, and polyclinic posting is a requirement. Their idea is to be some top surgical doctor, and not polyclinic doctors.
Counsellors are supposed to be very understanding people, right? But I have come across counsellors who are bias and 'have no heart'. Its the character of the person.
Thats why went I go polyclinic, i never expect any good treatment. Just dun ill-treat me.
