You are exactly and absolutely right! I am glad that there are people who know this.
i thought people who get selected to become commandos can have their parents decide whether to approve their sons to go in or not?
i remember hearing that due to the high death rate and risk for commandos in NS, their parents have a choice (given a form) whether to let their son join CDO or not.
how high is death rate?
got 0.1% or not?

Nope, and just as well. If it was up to parental approval, we'd be left with First Commando Section.

Sometimes I dont have the slightest clue about what you are saying.Anyways,We don't and never wore red caps.
the moral of this tragic story is : BE A TOTAL WEAKO, A TOTAL WIMP, when you enlist for NS. meaning that DO NOT GO TO ANY GYM or play any sports during your poly / JC years. this way, you'll be a scrawny, nerdy, wimpy nerd when you go to CMPB and BMT, which is good.
then, after NS, you can be a strong guy again.
getting sent to CDO, Guards or any battalion unit during NS isn't worth it.
if you can downgrade to PES C9 L9 or PES E, even better.
not need for IPPT when you ORD.

but we do have a more than a company strength in hell from OC third Coy 1980 down to the last rank

That's a matter of opinion. I had a ball in 1CDO, and i wouldn't have traded it for any other vocation. Hell, the lessons I learned from those days are still being put to use 18 years later.

Some guys choose to die on their feet, others choose to live on their knees. We can't control people's choices, so you may as well just let it go.
