do you want to make the army your career in the first place? or are you just tempted by the money and the recession. you have not even started taking your own men and you're thinking of signing up. bro you're barely at the tip of the SAF and if you think this is how army life is going to be like, good luck to you when you're in the unit

Go sispec first then think....i've had enough of specialists who talk like thunder in camp but fuck up everything in the field, and some officers are no better....if you're buay gan, please don't sign on..if you do sign, make sure you know the right people, if not no need think so much about pp2.
Hi,
Speak to the army career staff about prospects and scholarships available for furthering your studies.
Speak to your SISPEC instructors who are regulars.
Speak to your friends who have signed on to understand what made them do so.
Most importantly, speak to your heart and ask if that's what you want in this phase of your life.
Good luck and consider your options carefully.
Cheers,
Wen Shih

And now, i see my friends signing on and my family asking question bout the procedures and stuffs..=.=..
Is it a good to go situation to sign on?
I dont mind actually…
I just POP, and going SISPEC.Any one who signed on can enlightened me on Policy that includes furthering studies?.. =DD
you should only sign on if you have the passion .....
and if you have the passion, then there would never be a "good time" or a "bad time" ....
but since you're asking dittering, the obviously the "P" quotient is not high enough ...
DON'T sign on ....
If you are just a specialist then there is no point signing on. Think about it...sign on, the highest rank you can get is warrant officers after a few decades. But an NSF who have just gone through OCS for 9 months can get a rank higher than you. Bo hua right?

being a Professional Soldier is not all honour and glory all the time..to those who have stayed on it is a calling to them.
and not everyone have the spirit to grind the soldier path n to look back without regret.
most just spit at their old path.
so do not sign on because of the money...

can anyone tell me whose passion can last for 20-30 yrs on a single career...

look at some of the senior warrants, look at some cops .... look at some of the older teachers .....
passion CAN last for a life time ....
if you don't think yours can ..... then you're better off just getting a JOB ....
and if you're just looking for a job ... then you're better off in the private sector, or at least, the non-uniformed services .....
else you'll just end up being miserable, farking up your own work, getting shafted for it, and then being even more miserable in turn ....
have u interview those people?? in reality, many juz want to work through the career safely and take the pension.
Sorry if i offend you, i am a regular soldier and a high flyer one.but recently i ask myself this question, can u carry your fieldpack and chiong throughout the next 20 yrs...
of cos we can't answer for them..
you have answered your own question, but its your own answer.
to you base on how you feel you assume that others feel the same way too.
sorry to offend you too, but the world don't revolve around you.
i've met a guy we were joking that taking off and leave is like asking him to sign extra.
