then you must be one of those insignificant ones LOL
the rank look nazi-ish..What's next, eagle patches and SS blood group tattoos?
Hellraiza >> does it matter ? I served my time , done my part just like hundreds of thousands of others .. it doesnt matter if my role was significant or insignificant .. as long as I knew what I was doing in my unit. and oh .. for OPSEC .. i cant tell you what I did ..
i wasnt refering to your role, i was refering to your character....
And don't worry about OPSEC, i don't need-to-know, so i don't want-to-know... =D
hey Hellraiza bro, long time no see. u still at NSC?
yeah bro...still there. I'm going nuts during this block leave, i want to get back to work ASAP!

Hahah Dun worry about my Character .. U Dun needa know either .. haha
btw, how come OCT is considered such a low rank? OCT leh, bro......once OCT graduate will become 2LT, full officer.....who dare play-play?!
even warrants have to give face to 2LT you know?!
as for that "LCP who pumps OCT", wait till OCT graduate from OCS then he knows.
i've always regard OCT as a rank higher than CPL.....more like on par with 3SG.

because...
during oct 1st term, if drop out, become pte.
during oct 2nd term, if drop out, become cpl.
during oct 3rd term, if drop out, become 3sg.
but then, most OCTs will complete their courses one mah.
so, better to treat OCTs like kings. u never know what will happen later.

lol for me different. they come in, act like 1 big fuck. i act like that to put them in their place. only those that i respect, i greet them sir in front of other ppl. but behind closed doors, just call each other name. as for those new ones, fuck care.
this rank can be seen in PLC... i guess for now.
i wear that rank. yeah, its ugly and its troublesome? but the good thing that comes along with it is the increase in pay. initially cpl trainees on the spec courses get $570, then it was increased to $590. everyone thought it was damn boliao cuz the additional 20 bucks was used to cover the aviva insurance policy which all serviceman must have unless he opts out. so now they increased it to $610. i think its quite a decent allowance as compared to officer cadets. however i think the 3rd sgt pay should be more becuz the contrast between a 2lt's pay with a 3sgt's pay is really huge. i dunno, maybe its suppose to be that way.

Whats the point , I wonder .. Its all just marketing .. Its just like giving you a new job title and a whole load of same crap + additional .. or may i use the sensitive word "EXTRAS" sai-gang ( fatigue work ) to do ..
Like the older generation used to say .. Either be a Dragon ( "long" aka Officer ) .. or be a Worm ( "chong" aka man) .. never ever be an in-between like the Specialist .. always kena pressed in between the officers and men ..
Men misbehave .. You kena .. Officer Buay Song .. You kena .. Men low morale , You kena .. Officer arrow , you kena .. Just for $20 more .. Hahah
With pride we lead

School of infantry specialist, here we come,
soldiers of every creed and race.
soldiers to specialist we will become,
leader of six man we set the pace!
sispec warriors, we are the warriors,
sispec warriors, with pride we will lead,
fearlessly we lead with pride,
training hard full of might,
train to lead by day and night,
we will strive for greater heights.

like u said, it's a hq div camp, where all the crabs and stars are, of course bars are considered small
but if u are in a combat unit like myself, 2lt demand much more respect because there are very few officers around to begin with.
in fact, my men are even more respectful towards me because i'm the one who directly determine how much PT to do, plan their training program, fight with them outfield, decide when to rest and when to chiong etc etc (and topo!! my SCs freaking can't topo, learn in sispec come unit all forget), and of course, the ever so impt 'off'
at the end of the day i don't want them to call me 'sir' just becos of my rank
seriously, if i see generals i'll only greet becos of the rank, but for my OC i greet him out of respect, cos he is one garang and smart commander. even till today after i ORD, when i meet my OC i still call him 'sir' out of respect. same goes for my guys when they see me outside, even though i don't make them do it
