I am an enlistee, preparing to serve my role in NS in the coming March. I was wondering if one could apply for driving licenses inside the camp? Driving licenses which can be used to drive normal civilian cars. Anyone who knows can kindly tell me? Thank You.

only when u r posted to / assigned to be a Driver vocation, then u go to SAF Driving School at Kaki Bukit Road there.
All kinds of motor classes for military vehicles only...
whats more, all $ for theory n practical lessons, n tests r fully paid for by SAF. not only that, u r also paid monthly allowance just to learn to drive military vehicles...
at the end of ur 2 years as a military driver vocation, just clock a mileage of 7,000km + zero-incident record for a FREE conversion application to a civilian class 3 licence...
wth... go to http://www.spf.gov.sg/abtspf/tp.htm#dept
Civilian Driving Schools:
www.cdc.com.sg / www.bbdc.sg / www.ssdcl.com.sg
Thank you very much! very detailed indeed! i did apply for the civilian basic theory test. But after realising that the Provisional Driving License can only last for 6 months... I decided not to pursue further due to the fact that I will entering camp on March soon.
Do you know if I was enlisted to be an Infantry, is it possible if I tried to appeal, any chances that I can enter such driving course?

There is no such thing as "I want to appeal for a course I wanted due to my own desire and time".
The only time you can ask for permission to go for your lessons is after when you get posted to a permanent unit, after your BMT and vocational courses training.
to add on to eac. if u r white horse, can try appealing.
Oh... I was unaware of all these. Thank you for all these info! They were really handy.
